Liked: Room was very worn looking, bout clean and tidy
Disliked: Bed was too soft for me, so it was uncomfortable and sagging so sleep was hard to come by

Liked: On arrival we were greeted by a lovely French lady who couldn't do enough to help us, l didn't get her name but thank you so much. My son uses a wheelchair and we were impressed by the fact that had a lift to reception (it did get stick as we left but we won't talk about that....)The decor downstairs was absolutely beautiful, very much what we expected for such a grand building, the room was very clean with a modern bathroom. The location for our venue was excellent, literally 100yrds away.
Disliked: The room was very hot, no air con (we were booked on the hottest day of the year) just a fan which proved to be inadequate. The decor upstairs was a bit sad and needed an uplift. We waited over half an hour to be served at the bar, not great and the breakfast although really nice was a bit pricey (we heard lots of comments along those lines too) all in all, apart from the excellent location and the beautiful reception (and the French lady!) the hotel had nothing more than we would've had at a budget hotel, OK it's Wales capital city so prices will be steeper and it's convenient for the city centre and venues but still it was pricey for a small room with a fan and a pretty standard breakfast for which we had to pay over the odds.

Ideal weekend stay

Liked: Location was perfect although you can hear partners til early hours if you sleep with window open. Breakfast was reasonably priced. Staff were so helpful and polite.
Disliked: Rooms are very warm, no air con although fans are supplied in rooms

Liked: The staff , the staff make your stay , I'm 9 months pregnant and staying because my house is being renovated, they assure me they are first aid , trained and got me not to panic, as I've had small twinges, They go above and beyond and it's like family , nothing is ever to much , I choose to stay here over any hotel , my children feel he the same , and feel so comfortable , room service is so quick , and I highly recommend this hotel

Liked: Nice having everything in the room,we had a amazing fan to keep us cool,the bed was really soft which i like and the view from the window was excellent,we had a view of cardiff castle clock tower--->staff was very friendly,definitely stay there again
