For the price, you can...

Liked: Location was excellent. Staff courteous and helpful. So hot in our room one night, we asked for a fan and got one.
Disliked: Where can I start. I’m sure The Angel Hotel was regal in its day. This hotel is completely misleading in photos and descriptions on website. Nothing is right about photos. The hallways and flooring are askew from aging and lack of upkeep. Windows covered in cobwebs and many broken panes. Lobby furniture cracked and peeling. Only one elevator works and it needed scrubbing. I would never recommend this hotel except for location.

No return stay

Liked: Great location next to the castle
Disliked: Cleanliness of the room was poor- almost like sevetslt dogs had been in there and the room hadn’t been hoovered- lots of clumps of hair and dirty glasses. Indifferent staff but then the customer service email response was also dire, so it seems a common theme.

Liked: Staff were friendly and more than happy to help. Great value for money

Disappointing. won't go back.

Liked: Location.
Disliked: No parking any more.Cost me £30 in a NCP. Waited at the bar to get a drink at 7pm but no one came so we gave up and went elsewhere. The shower was broken so had to move rooms. Room was way too hot and the windows wouldn't open and no air con. Lost its charm. Now appears dated and tired.

Room disappointing with no view,...

Liked: The location and the grand hallway of the hotel.
Disliked: The room was very dated and the bathroom was very old fashioned. Needed modernisation.Had a G&T in the bar and they had no ice or proper gin glasses.

Spacious room with a great...

Liked: The location next to the castle and close to the railway station is great. I had a comfortable bed and a large bathroom with plenty of hot water and fluffy towels. The hotel staff were very friendly and welcoming.
Disliked: Nothing that caused any sort of problem, but some parts of the hotel are a little tired and in need of refurbishment.
