The Americus is even more elegant than pictured. The staff were pleasant. The room was clean.

Liked: Clean room and not crowded.
Disliked: Rooftop bar not open.

Check in was quick and efficient; staff was friendly; valet staff were wonderful; room was perfect; will definitely stay here again.

Disliked: Could not get the safe to work in the room.

Nice old hotel; PPL Center was one block away and many restaurants and watering holes all walkable.

Liked: Grandeur.
Disliked: None.

Pleasant but could be better...

Liked: Is very beautiful. Service at the restaurant very slow. Some pancakes I ordered were burned in one side. The rest of food nice.
Disliked: Property good. Mattresses no good.

Disliked: We could clearly hear baby crying through walls. Bathroom fan was very noisy.

Nice hotel in Allentown in...

Liked: The location to the parking lot was good, there was a little cafe down the road which was nice. The room was a good size and the amenities were good in the room too.
Disliked: The shower was Luke warm, the beds although comfy dipped in the middle. It was more expensive than we thought it should be but think there were events on in town.

Expensive, frustrating, disappointing one night...

Liked: Anticipated an intriguing , comfortable room with accessible amenities . This was not the case. Room was large .
Disliked: The bed was not useable as it was about 40 “ high. I ended up sleeping on the couch. TV remote batteries were dead. Shower/tub very slippery. No creamer for kureig coffee. Soap for shower opened and 2/3 filled. No dishwasher detergent for dishwasher. Expensive charge for valet parking. Cafe opens at 800 am -

The overall stay was very...

Liked: I thought the overall vibe was great! It made think of the elegance portrayed in the movies. Breathtaking upon entering.
Disliked: There were only a couple things that we didn’t sit well. The women at the front desk weren’t very nice to the people checking in, and not very knowledgeable about valet service. Our suite was very nice, but the furniture was dirty, and there was no information about the hotels amenities or room service, the restaurant,etc.

Liked: Beautiful property in a good location. Very comfortable rooms. But worst customer service I've ever experienced.
Disliked: INITIAL REVIEW ON AUGUST 10, 2024: Was charged $20 for an early check-in (only arrived one hour early). Wasn't told that kitchen was closed at check-in (because of an event at the hotel), so after settling in for the night, had to get dressed again to go out and get food. At check-in told staff I was leaving early the next morning, but car wasn't ready so had a 20 plus minute wait in the lobby. The rush that ensued resulted in the attendant leaving his cell phone in my car, which I returned later in the day even though it required a 50 minute round trip drive for me. For that trouble and at my request, they agreed to reimburse my parking fee ($35) and late check-in fee ($20). Even though I confirmed this in a call with the hotel's assistant manager a few days after my stay, I still haven't received the agreed upon amount even though it has been 3 weeks.UPDATE ON AUGUST 29, 2024: Despite the hotel's immediate response (see below) to my initial review, I still have not received my refund. In fact, I haven't heard from them at all. The worst customer service I have ever experienced. Avoid this property at all costs.
