Liked: Quality and safety of the hotel and surrounding area. After reading hundreds of reviews from other hotels, I realized that customer experience is not important. The Altair Hotel went above and beyond to make sure we had a wonderful stay.
Disliked: Weekends there are lots of children at the events and its a bit chaotic, scooters everywhere. Need to have a staff member managing this a bit better. Miami Traffic is terrible so getting anywhere from this hotel can take quite awhile.

Horrible

Disliked: The service was horrible and I was racially profiled in my opinion! Upon arrival, I was told they did not have any rooms available even though I had already paid for and booked a Delux King room. The front desk assistant had my reservation and the confirmation but still insisted there were no rooms available! After calling Booking and complaining to the hotel staff, the hotel magically found a room. I did not get the room I paid for but received a lesser room for the same amount, absolutely unacceptable! The hotel took advantage of customers who were forced to stay the night because the Miami airport canceled a lot of flights! The hotel raised their prices to over $800 a room when their normal price for the same room is usually $323.00 a night!!!

Wonderful bed in a restraining...

Liked: The receptionist Amanda was extremely kind and courteous. The bed was exceptional. The view of the canal was nice.
Disliked: The swimming pool photos show a cabana but the cabana is rented for $100 for a 4 hour period. Nobody told us that. They offer kayaks but they were full of water and trhere was nobody avialçable to clean them. The restaurant display was akward with an egg and omelet station posted in the way, not allowing space for the people to move freely. The hotel is advertised as jewish but I did not know they were orthodox. During the friday/saturday shabbat period they shut down one elevator leaving only one for guests and staff!!! I could hear everything of the communicating room beside us. The orthodox jews don't look you in the eye and pretend you do not exist. Children are loud and with no manners. Things at breakfast simply "ended" and there was no reposition. No orange juice, no coffee cups, etc.

I enjoyed my stay

Liked: The property was in a very nice part of town. It was very clean and comfortable
Disliked: It was a little Spartan. An extra blanket and pillow would’ve been nice. There was no microwave, but a very large kitchen.
