We liked staying at the...

Liked: The cooked to order breakfast was great. The location was a walk to everywhere in town one, yet on a quiet street. If the hotel was full, it seemed as though there may not be enough parking for everyone. Luckily, when we were there this was not a problem. But since overnight parking on the street is not permitted, I don't know where one would park if the hotel lot was full.
Disliked: Our room, 103, was connected to another room, if needed for a family I suppose, via a locked door. But we could hear the conversation of the people next door, so the sound insulation was bad. We were told that there would be hot coffee throughout the day, but this didn't turn out to be true. Sometimes there was, and many times there wasn't.The staff could have been friendlier too. I don't think anyone ever smiled.

We had a good stay.

Liked: The Alpine House was in a great location in town. You can easily walk to many restaurants and shops nearby. The breakfast was also a plus. It was good and had lots of options. We also liked that they offered coffee and tea all day. The staff was very nice and accommodating!
Disliked: My only complaint is the room… The pictures online are very deceiving, the room looked nothing like them. The room was so small it made it uncomfortable. There was also no air conditioning or fan, so the room got VERY hot at night even with it being below freezing outside. We had to keep the window open, which I was skeptical about because we were on the first floor and there was no window screen.

good location, good "value", don't...

Liked: Good location. Nice that breakfast was included. That's about it.
Disliked: 1. When we arrived, the guy at the front desk barely looked up. He wasn't very friendly and didn't help with our bags. None of the front desk staff were very friendly. No one said hello nor goodbye when we we're coming in/leaving.2. the room is tiny and the bed wasn't very comfortable. there wasn't even a comforter/duvet! it was like 0 degrees out and we had to pump the heat to an uncomfortable degree. photos are definitely nicer than reality.3. the garbage in the bathroom wasn't taken out and the toilet paper was left empty

More like a communal Airbnb...

Liked: The property is a charming old house, located just a block or two from the main part of Jackson with the shops, restaurants, etc. The rooms and furnishings are cute.
Disliked: To be honest, I was disappointed with my time here and would not book again. Most of the problems come down to lack of staff and poor communication. - I was informed by text message a few hours before we arrived that no one is on site after 5pm, so we would need to call a number from a sign on the front door to check. When I arrived just before 7pm, there were no parking spots visible and it was dark and about 10 degrees outside. I called the number and the person said they couldn't check me in and and gave me another number to call. Then I called that number and they told me to come to meet them at some other property. Despite texting in advance to tell them when I would arrive, it was clear no one had made any effort to prepare for my arrival and the employee I did eventually find was not familiar with the check-in procedure. Nor did anyone seem to wear a uniform or have a nametag- Once we did finally get checked in, our room was so hot that the fireplace room I had been upsold (and paid more for) was useless, because it never got anywhere near cold enough for the thermostat to turn the fireplace on. We had to open the window the entire night to keep from sweating, and there was frequent street noise which meant I didn't sleep well- At breakfast, the staff seemed pretty unfamiliar with the job and they were out of several items from the very limited selection. They seemed overworked and unfriendly and leftover food remained for hours on the tables in the dining area- I was told that if I had any questions, I could text a number and someone would help answer my questions. Despite this, no one ever answered my texts, until I found someone and asked about it in person. Needless to say, when I said I was disassatisfied, they made no effort - whatsoever - to mitigate the issue, or even speak with me about it. So we left and went somewhere else. In sum, I felt more disrespected than I have in any service interaction in a long time.

Perfectly situated for our stay,...

Liked: Eggs were made to order, and done nicely, quick service, English muffin or bagel, 4 kinds of juice available. Fireplace and library room were fantastic! Building is older than anticipated so narrow hallways, but heater in room worked quietly and well.
Disliked: Some of fresh fruit was old, other fruit not ripe.
