Town centre treasure

Liked: Lovely, spacious rooms. Location close to town centre. Parking nearby but dropped off our bags first. Great pub and food was excellent. Excellent value for money - car park location was the only thing to let it down but very close to railway station and bus services.
Disliked: Pub opened at different times on different days and didn't serve food every night.

Liked: Lovely friendly staff, made me feel very welcome, which is very important when travelling alone. Great pub & breakfast was perfect!

A night in Shrewsbury

Liked: The bed was really comfy, and I had a good night's sleep. The breakfast was really tasty.
Disliked: The room was on the ground floor, and the window looked out into the outside seating area of the bar so was only private if the curtains were closed too.The room was very small, and not very well lite considering you have to keep the curtains closed.

Fantastic location, staff and breakfast

Liked: Ideally located for visiting the historical and beautiful town of Shrewsbury .Although the hotel was on a main road there was no noise from traffic because of the double glazing. The room, a small suite, was comfortable . The main part of the total , The Abs, which was attached to the hotel is a vibrant and friendly place . The staff we friendly and couldn’t do enough for us and the breakfast was fabulous. I would recommend parking at the railway station a 5 minute walk and £6 for 24 hours. We will definitely be back .

A week in Shrewsbury

Liked: Angela, Natalie, Sam & Tom were all extremely helpful and really made our holiday! My room, Victoria, was really a mini suite and very comfortable. The door locking system made us feel very secure and it was nice to have a separate entrance from the hotel. The included breakfasts were delicious. Easy walk to the station, castle, prison, shops, cafes and the dingle. Overall, The Albert, and Shrewsbury in general, was a great place for our week's stay.
Disliked: The carpet in my room could use a shampoo. Coming from Australia, I have found a general reluctance to accept £50 notes. The Albert actually has a policy against accepting them. This might be handy to know for other travellers.
