The Spotlight on The Alan

Stay Stylish at The Alan Manchester

Modern and effortlessly cool, The Alan puts you right in the heart of Manchester’s action. Located on Princess Street, you’ll be steps from Manchester Central Library, vibrant Piccadilly Gardens, and the buzzing nightlife of Chinatown. This sleek city-center hotel offers air-conditioned rooms, a stylish bar, and stunning city views — all wrapped up with complimentary high-speed Wi-Fi for planning your concert nights.

Why Concert-goers love it

Location is everything, and The Alan nails it. You’re just a short stroll from major venues like Manchester Central and The Palace Theater. After the show, you’ll appreciate the peaceful, modern rooms designed for a good night’s sleep. Plus, with easy access to late-night public transport and a 2:00 PM check-in, you can relax and enjoy your music-filled getaway without stress.

Who this Hotel is great for

  • Groups of friends looking for a stylish crash pad
  • Solo travelers checking off bucket-list gigs
  • Couples planning a romantic concert weekend
  • Fans needing a quiet spot to unwind post-show
  • Budget-conscious music lovers wanting solid value without sacrificing style

Food and Drink Options

The Alan offers a fantastic a la carte breakfast — perfect when you need a late start after a late night. While there’s no 24/7 room service, the on-site bar means you’ll never go thirsty, and there are countless late-night dining options just steps away in Chinatown and around Piccadilly.

Nightlife Options

While The Alan focuses more on chic relaxation than on-site live music, you’re within walking distance of Manchester’s best bars, clubs, and lounges. Prefer a quieter nightcap? The hotel’s stylish bar serves up craft drinks in a laid-back atmosphere.

What People Say

Guests love The Alan’s unbeatable central location, friendly staff, and modern decor. Many praise the comfy beds, stylish interiors, and the overall vibe that’s perfect for a lively city break. The complimentary specialty coffee at breakfast is a frequent highlight too!

Areas for Improvement

Some guests mention that street noise can be noticeable on lower floors — not surprising given the vibrant city-center location. Light sleepers might want to request a higher floor room.

The Bottom Line

If you’re heading to Manchester for a concert and want a cool, centrally located hotel with style, comfort, and easy access to major venues — The Alan is a brilliant choice.

Would stay again as the...

Liked: Location is great, price was good, bed comfortable.
Disliked: Rooms are basic but that’s the style they have gone with. Basically just a bed in a room.

Liked: I liked how central the hotel was, great location.
Disliked: The staff member seemed very rude. Friendly with the people before me and seemed very rude. The staff in general did not give a friendly vibe at all.

Not worth the price

Liked: The locationThe style (in the lobby only!! Not the room)The comfortable bedsThe airco
Disliked: We asked for a laundry service that was not done… and that really affected our holiday planThe classic room (cheapest one) is too expensive for what it is. No smart TV (although it was already informed in the reservation), nor very clean, not enough light Overall, I wouldn’t recommend. I think there are better options for this price.
