Overall ok for the price...

Liked: - Good size room - Nice having a radio and tv in the room and lots of storage ie wardrobe, bedside tables and other room furniture - Receptionists are very friendly - Fair price at £103 for one night - Nice Italian restaurant down the road and apparent dinner at the hotel is nice so food local places to eat
Disliked: - We booked a dog friendly room on booking.com - we were then told that the room wasn’t dog friendly and we had to escalate to get the dog allowed to stay. The hotel did make us feel like we should be grateful the dog could stay even though we’d booked a dog friendly room in the first place (for a clean, hypoallergenic cockapoo who doesn’t malt) . We were told the room would have to be deep cleaned after, but having seen the room we aren’t sure why as it didn’t look any different to the dog friendly ones, and the carpet wasn’t particularly clean anyway. - No dog poo bins even though the hotel is “dog friendly” - you have to carry the poo through the hotel to the main road to throw it away. Apparently this is a regular comment from guests. - Breakfast £16pp - we were told it was £12pp at reception. Nice but way overpriced. Continental would be nice with some fresh fruit or cheese as was just yoghurt, a couple of pastries and cereal. - Car park wasn’t easy to find - Bed was ok but not the most comfortable - Work needs doing on the bathroom because the sink wastewater doesn’t empty well and the shower is either too hot or cold and the jets are too powerful - Shower curtain is disgusting - covered in mould so needs to be replaced. Shower sign asks you to keep the curtain inside the bath when you shower but then you get wrapped in a sticky mouldy curtain. - Could do with a fridge in the room

Disliked: putting out the 'green' no need for new towels every day, meant no clean tea cups or top up or doing any vacuuming, which is not quite the same thing.

Pleasant experience from walking through...

Liked: Staff were exceptional both when we arrived and at breakfast/check out. We arrived in the evening and had booked a twin room but the room reserved for us was a double and the hotel was full. As we were 2 blokes traveling together to go to Cadwell Park we really needed the twin. It was no problem at all for the staff to reconfigure the room and even gave us a pint each to drink in the bar whilst it was being done. A potential issue handled exceptionally well and in a friendly and professional manner. Well done Jenny and the team
