Lovely Stay

Liked: Beautiful, clean and stylish hotel. Very grand old hotel but beautifully decorated to fit the grand hotel style. Bar was stylish and welcoming and the food was divine. Really enjoyed our meal and very good value for money with regards to the food. Reception staff were very welcoming and accommoding. The room was massive and spotless and when we requested the hearing be turned on it was no problem. Highly recommend.
Disliked: The location is a little out of the way in regards to town but wouldn't stop us returning again as taxis were very reasonable.

Beautiful hotel with great views

Liked: We had a lovely corner room, very spacious and light and very quiet, even though it overlooked the terrace on one side. Great view over the city as the hotel is on a hill. Very good breakfast including Irish black pudding. We ate here twice, first for a full meal which was very generous - recommend the seafood chowder, second for a selection of light bites as we were getting too well fed! Location is walkable to Cork city centre, if you don't mind a climb back to the hotel. There are a few restaurants and bars nearby, including a great pizzeria.
Disliked: Parking was a bit of a disaster on arrival as they had a party booked in. Arrive early to get a space Fri/Sat. TV remote didn't work very well.

Their accredited stars must have...

Liked: Location and service staff were good
Disliked: At 9.pm for breakfast there was no juice of any kind we were told it was all gone. There was one person serving . Guests were requesting food from their tables it was clearly meant to be a buffet. Everyone was looking at each other. Breakfast was included in the price . The springs were through the bed in room 112 . I would never contemplate going back there ever again.

Good

Liked: The hotel design, rooms, and bar/restaurant area were very nice.
Disliked: Location not ideal for everyone as quite a steep hill to walk from town without a car.

Pleasant

Liked: The bedroom was great with a lovely view!
Disliked: Breakfast was a bit chaotic at the 9.30 sitting! A lot of the cold buffet ran out i.e. milk, orange juice bread etc. and was slow to be replaced! There didnt seem to be anyone in charge!
