Disliked: Bed wasn't very comfy & our room was above reception so a little noisy

A dated hotel which needs...

Liked: A historic and lovely building connected to the Malvern priory, ideally located in the centre of town.The staff in general were helpful and wanted to assist although a minority (Eastern European) staff need more training which was evident during breakfast with some tensions obvious between some staff.
Disliked: It badly needs serious investment to upgrade and bring it up to modern standards. It's a historic building and I know that brings its challenges but it's steeped in the 70's/80's.A real issue in the summer months is the lack of air con, we arrived to our top floor room to an ambient temp of 35 deg, we had 16 windows in our family room but only one available to open 6 inches, although the room was supplied with three fans which only allowed circulation of hot air around the room, and wholly unsuitable for any sort of restful sleep in combination with mattresses which resembled concrete, super hard.The Abbey Hotel web site, as you would expect makes no mention of the lack of air con, and naively I did not ask?

Welcoming. I have stayed at...

Liked: Good assortment of options. Eggs (cooked breakfast) were overcooked!
Disliked: Extractor Fan in bathroom continued (noisily) for over 40 minutes after the light hand been turned off… not great. It’s bad enough during the day but really bad at night.. couldn’t put on the light on in the bathroom at night because of the fan noise!!

Fantastic location, So Peaceful

Liked: Peaceful, views from breakfast room,choice at breakfast, bath,bed,fan.
Disliked: £10 Aperol Spritz at bar! Might need air con at some point, no toilet brush.

Perfect choice for an overnight...

Liked: Spacious, clean, excellent bedding and pillows, excellent facilities, friendly staff, Nespresso machine in room, fabulous breakfast, car parking, great location for Malvern

Great location - clean but...

Liked: Location is great.On the whole breakfast buffet was reasonable quality
Disliked: Room too hot, no air conditioning.Breakfast was like a Butlins holiday park, noisy and chaotic. Orange juice, wasn’t fresh and seems to be a diluted alternative which was disgusting and undrinkable.
