We were looking for a...

Liked: Location was great and the renovated building and rooms were charming.
Disliked: No direct access to parking lot when events space in use. Open rain and handheld shower area was interesting but water definitely wasn’t contained there—sprayed all the way out to tiles in sink area and even carpet. The lack of a secure wifi network is pretty baffling in 2025. The evening front desk person wasn’t the best representative of the hotel: disinterested, not very friendly or helpful. The lady staffing the front desk in the AM was FABULOUS—she gave a wonderful end to our stay.

Great place, want to return...

Liked: The room was very charming and if not for the unusual heat wave, we were centrally located and could walk everywhere we wanted to go.
Disliked: I found a dead cockroach on the floor near the fridge

Southern hospitality at its best

Liked: The staff at this hotel set a standard for care that most other hotels fail to reach. They were helpful at all times and truly concerned for our welfare as guests. Now I know what "Southern Hospitality" means. Paducah is a great little place, and the people at this hotel are the finest credit to their city.

The heart of down town...

Liked: How professional everyone was at the hotel . A wedding was happening, still had my peace and quiet. I was able to access the hotel bar , due to wedding reservation, I didn't mind enjoying a walk to see the culture of history while finding a social place .
Disliked: Checking out ( insert laughs)

Beautiful accommodations in a cool...

Liked: The 1857 is a quaint boutique hotel in downtown Paducah. The hotel is in a strip of old buildings and has been rehabbed. It is charming, modern, and very classy all in one. The staff goes above and beyond to make sure you are having a great day - even offering a loaner umbrella when it was raining!!
