The 1852 Hotel - Smartphone Check-in

This hotel is trendy, clean and in an excellent location; staff are friendly and would highly recommend it. Probably suits the younger generation best. Very pleasant experience and a great price.

Liked: All check in, room and bar food/drink was smooth and very good. Straight accross from the Empire music venue and easy on street parking.
Disliked: No lift after a few drinks to top floor but not really a problem.

Unpleasant experience

Disliked: Broken shower door, window did not open, burn marks in carpet, tv placed on corner of room with tv bracket facing downwards so no point turning it on unless you want to strain your neck, dust all over the room and very outdated also booked a two day stay house keeping didn’t come once had to use the same towels from a Wednesday to Friday morning severely disappointing.

Liked: Great location, nice food in the bar, spacious rooms and surprisingly quiet
Disliked: Have a nervousness about fires and was concerned that the bedroom window opening was not possible to exit through. There were fire exits on the corridor - so no doubt this met fire regs.

OK for one night but...

Liked: Staff in the bar were friendly, but unable to (or did not) help us to reset the code on the safe. It was not usable during our stay. Bed was comfy. Wifi OK but open network. Good location.
Disliked: Room was quite basic and small for the price. Inadequate hanging/storage space for clothes. Tea/coffee making facilities provided but had to place kettle on floor to plug in. No shelf/hanging space in (small) bathroom. Overall, it felt like the furnishings were minimal and cheap. Unfortunately there was a heatwave while we sere there and the room was hot. Opening the window let in a constant noise from nearby air conditioning on adjacent buildings.
