Enjoyed my stay

Liked: It was in the city centre, liked our room it had a balcony with the street view and could also see the beautiful colourful roofs of other buildings
Disliked: There is no elevator it’s difficult going upstairs with the luggage

Liked: The top advantages of staying here: the staff is amazing. Maria at the front desk will bend over backwards to assist you with your stay. She went over a paper map several times with me to explain the neighborhood, carried my suitcase up several flights of stairs (no elevator in building) and helped me get a taxi on time. They also sell bottle water at the front desk, which really was a nice perk on extra warm days. The other thing that was phenomenal was the location. I have traveled to Madrid many times, and wanted to stay somewhere that was central, but not totally inundated with tourists. This was a good place for that. The location was incredibly convenient - not once did I need to take the metro. I was able to walk to everything - Retiro, the Rastro, Puerta del Sol, Gran Vía, all the main tourist sites and more - easily. The other great features of this hostel are that the air conditioning was amazing, and worked really well. The balcony was also nice, and with the windows and shades shut, the room stayed cool and quiet. The shower was hot and had decent pressure both days I stayed here.
Disliked: As expected, it was a very tiny room and it can feel cramped and stuffy, even for 1 person. This is to be expected in this type of location (hostel) right in the heart of the city. I'm willing to make this trade off for all the above positives!!

I would recommend.

Liked: The junior suite was a great size for two. The bed was very comfortable. It was very clean and with a very good little bathroom. The air conditioning was great in the bed area. The staff were excellent - friendly and accommodating and the fact the reception was 24 hours even in a small guest house such as this made it feel very secure. The staff - both daytime and evening, were very welcoming. The balcony was great for having a little breakfast.
Disliked: Would be better if there were some way of cooling in the suite other than in the bed area, as the air con doesn't reach round. A good fan would do the job :)

Perfect for a couple of...

Liked: Great location with a nice coffee shop right outside, walk to all the attractions, plus very close to a metro station. We had a lovely terrace room which was great for sitting out on in the evenings. The staff were very helpful and friendly
