Exceptional

Great venue to stay for...

Liked: Great food and good wine choices, room very comfortable.Restaurant was very good, great staff and good food.The Spa pool was a bit dark and I prefer more light to sit and read if needed, also a little dissapointing not to have a jacuzzi in the spa but the steam room and sauna were good. Outside is beautiful, plenty of seating to watch the day pass by and watch the adventiures at the final green lol
Disliked: Fridge and coffee machine in the room would be nice but I am being picky, everything else was excellent so offset that.

This was a short break...

Liked: Welcomed on arrival by friendly and helpful staff. Rooms were well furnished with complementary bottled water , tea & coffee etc and bathroom toiletries. Beds and pillows were really comfortable! Breakfast buffet provided a very good choice of hot & cold options but additional food could be ordered from the kitchen - eg porridge, Eggs Benedict etc. Most impressive thing about this hotel is the staff. We were all very impressed with the care, kindness and hospitality they offered. Everyone was cheery and polite. It was a pleasure to be here.
Disliked: Unable to book a table in the bar area for dinner. We didn’t want to eat in the restaurant, preferring the bar. However, we were fortunate to get a table to suit us. It isn’t great trying to eat a meal from a low, occasional type table.

Good - but short of...

Liked: Great restaurant, good breakfast, comfortable bed.
Disliked: The toilet wasn't clean - someone's diarrhoea remains we're under the seat and on the back of the toilet. It's a long way from anywhere if you want to eat somewhere else - luckily we didn't as the bar and restaurant are really good. Had to park in the fast charger park as people with straight petrol cars parked in the charger parks - we saw that the whole time we were there. The rooms need an update, although they're comfortable enough.

Was it worth it.?

Liked: Setting was amazing. Hotel entrance was large and well staffed.Check in was very quick and pain free.The restaurant was nicely situated and menu was limited but very tasty and well presented. It did get very noisy very quickly eith 3 huge parties dining at the same time.
Disliked: Room was very compact with no views,, for the £187 room charge i would expect a room with a view. Dust found on the light fittings and head board, and behind the cupboard with the tea making facilities was filthyThe bathroom was a bit to be desired. I found a chewed finger nail on the floor, shower glass had brown staining at the bottom and black mold in the shower.

Liked: Location to Telford and cosford
Disliked: Room was a little tired. Bathroom was very small and shower needed refurbishing around bottom. Lamp didn’t work either….
