Liked: The staff were exceptional, very friendly and helpful. The food in the Indian restaurant was also very good
Disliked: I was in Room 3. A 'King Room with a 'Sea' View'.This infers you are getting a superior quality room with a sea view. This was not correct. The quality was poor and the view was mainly that of an oil refinery. The ratings for the place are intertwined with the restaurant which in misleading.As you walk in and up to the rooms the stairs and carpets and filthy.On first impression the room looked ok. However it's on a main road with single glazed windows and is VERY noisy. What with the trucks and the fridge I didn't sleep for 2 nights and actually cancelled my reservation for the 3rd night on a non refundable basis and slept elsewhere it was that bad.The mattress did not have a cover and looked like it was stained with something that looked a lot like urine (photos attached).Finally I could hear the person in the next room on the toilet so I guess they could hear me too which is quite disconcerting.The restaurant needs to be decoupled from the hotel so that travellers can make an informed decision. I was researching my family history and this kind of ruined the experience I'm afraid.I've requested a refund for the last night from BookingEDIT: The hotel has responded to say there are double glazed windows | there are NO double glazed windows. They are very old single glazed windows with peeling paint.On my second night the owner? asked me if I was enjoying my stay, my face clearly indicated NO, however I am a solo female traveller, we learn to wind our necks in not to cause a kerfuffle.The Owner's interpretation of cleaning and mine are not aligned, I do not expect to sleep on a piss stained mattress.
