Comfortable Stay
Liked: We have stayed here before and will again when we visit our daughter who lives in Irvington. We had a large double room with two queen beds. Quiet property. Helpful staff. Ample parking.
Disliked: All was good.

Tarrytown Estates is truly a...
Liked: Grounds and pool are amazing! Really well-maintained property with lots of space for gathering. Restaurant breakfast was well stocked and food was delicious.
Disliked: With 2 restaurants on property, it would be nice to have something open for lunch and happy hour offerings. Providing a continental breakfast purchase option should be available. The food offerings for the buffet are great but when you just want continental and are charged $30/person that feels overpriced.

What a disappointment.
Liked: Check-in staff was friendly.
Disliked: Poor signage so we weren't sure where to check in. Little or no air conditioning in lobby area. We were looking for a historic property and historic experience but got an event center. There was zero historic ambiance. We had to park 2 levels down from our hotel room and the lighting was poor-we couldn't find the stairs so we dragged our luggage up the road. There were guests everywhere, smoking at all entrances. We took our coffee on the back terrace where we had a great view of overgrown tennis courts and a modern swimming pool and cabana. Nature took a backseat to corporate America. Very disappointing overall. Would be ok for a conference I guess.

Horrible
Disliked: Our room smelled. The coffee pot didn't work. I slept with my clothes on. Everything smelled like the hotel when we got home. Don't Stay HERE!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Exceptional
Liked: My wife and I had a truly lovely stay at the Tarrytown House Estate. The property is rich with charm and character, and I was especially impressed with how well it has been maintained considering its historic roots dating back to the 1800s. While there were a few minor signs of wear and tear, nothing took away from the overall beauty and experience of the estate. The cleanliness throughout the property was excellent—from the guest rooms to the common areas, everything felt tidy and well cared for. The indoor and outdoor pools were also very clean and inviting, perfect for a relaxing swim.We appreciated the range of outdoor activities available, including bocce ball, racquetball, basketball, and more. The grounds were peaceful and quiet, making it easy to unwind. We also noticed a nice mix of guests—families, couples, and even a few people traveling with their small dogs, which added to the warm and welcoming vibe. That said, there are a few areas where improvements could be made. The front desk could use more staff to handle the volume of calls and guest needs, especially during busier check-in and check-out times. Also, we wish the on-site restaurant stayed open at least an hour later, or at least offered extended hours for hotel guests.Still, these are small notes in what was an otherwise wonderful experience. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would return in a heartbeat. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a peaceful escape with a touch of historic elegance.
Disliked: Some noticeable wear and tear around the property.

Liked: Lovely setting. Perfect for destination wedding/conference. Very bucolic. Quiet. Safe. Nature setting. Lyndhurst Mansion and downtown Tarrytown very close. Convenient.
Disliked: No elevator in Rockland house. Had to carry our luggage up one flight of stairs. Parking lots are at lower levels so had to hike up hill to get to hotel. Dated decor. Staff not engaging or attentive, and not explaining parking and other amenities such as breakfast times and locations. Hallways not air-conditioned. Smelled moldy. Breakfast was $25 per person. Cheaper to drive downtown.
