Good overnight in reasonable hotel

Liked: Hotel handy for overnight before flying out of Dublin if you have a car. A bit tired and room furniture well used.

Liked: Excellent, plenty of choice, friendly and obliging staff
Disliked: The room. The bathroom had a terrible smell, no fan in bathroom so the smell filted out to the rest of the room. Carpet had a lot of stains on it a little bit of spot washing needed. I did report the smell at reception and was told the maintenance man wouldn't be in till 10 ó clock the next morning.

Liked: We used Carlow as a base, to explore the area and extend my world tour of Ireland. Next week Clifton is the base.. I would use the Talbot Hotel again if iI was in the area..

Liked: They find a solution and made a reservation in another hotel close to Talbot
Disliked: They gave us the smelly room which wasn’t clean properly. They knew it but they waited till we raised this concern that the smell was terrible and nobody can stay there without cleaning it. They tried to mask the smell with room sprays
