It was a nice place...

Liked: Nice sitting area outside the bedrooms.
Disliked: The room was smaller than we expected and the view was more over the parking lot than it was looking at the mountain. Wish they had left the fire pits on later than about 9. I understand since there really wasn’t any staff at the lodge after that time. They may be there later in the peak months.

Very good

Liked: Location is amazing! Wine tasting, comfortable bed, snacks and coffee/tea choices, employees are very nice. Only place we will stay near Helen!
Disliked: Pillows are too big. Jacuzzi tub had not been cleaned at water line. Where do you get ice? No space in bathroom for hygiene products. This will definitely not stop us from another visit.

Beautiful property but would not...

Liked: Some of the women in my family decided to take a little girls trip to Helen and came across this property which would accommodate our group comfortably. The price was affordable and the property is beautiful. When I had issues prior to arrival, the team was extremely helpful and communicative which I appreciate greatly.
Disliked: once we arrived, the tone shifted and some of the staff made us feel as though we were a burden to them. The first issue was us trying to redeem either a flight of wine or a glass of wine for each adult in our party. This was something that was shared in the details after booking as something included in our stay. The bartender refused to serve us the flight or glass and she and I had a bit of a back and forth until she said she would call the property manager. After about 20 minutes, she returns and says the property manager isn’t going to acknowledge the wine included in our stay. I asked to speak with the property manager directly and after a short conversation over the phone, she finally agreed to the glass of wine. It was clear the staff didn’t appreciate us not backing down but it’s not our problem that the details for reservations haven’t been changed to reflect that the property no longer does the free flight or glass of wine for lodge guests. Fast forward to the next day, and somehow, we get locked out of our suite. While persistent in getting us back in, the property manager kept doling out backhanded remarks to again, make us feel as though we are inconveniencing them. As a group, we continued to be pleasant because we truly didn’t want problems but we did not feel welcome our entire stay. Also, we were told there would be breakfast served in the wine tasting room—there was no breakfast, just snacks at the snack bar upstairs in the guest lounge space. Our suite also had bugs—stink bugs and lady bugs. They came out at night and were coming in droves. We also reserved a room and a house but they didn’t have any bug issues—only the suite. Is this property beautiful, yes. Is the price doable, yes. Would we stay here again, absolutely not.

Enjoyable stay

Liked: Enjoyed a couple of days here. It was a quiet, comfortable place. We stayed in The Suite. The beds were comfortable and the staff was very helpful and wanted to make sure everything was good with our stay. The location was a little outside of the city but we enjoyed hiking and relaxing

If you are looking to...

Liked: I loved all the personal touches from the minute you walk into the building. I love the open great room upstairs for the guest and the balcony. We also enjoyed getting to the know the staff and the live music Saturday. I loved how we were close to wineries and downtown Helen. We will definitely come back and I will recommend to friends and family.
Disliked: There was not anything that I did not like.
