Good but inadequate local taxi...

Liked: Staff and restaurants very good Very inadequate taxi service and no nearby public transport
Disliked: No adequate taxis

Exceptional

Liked: The Staff were exceptional, went above & beyond to ensure we enjoyed a great experience at Swinton.
Disliked: Did not expect to pay extra to use the Spa facilities.

Liked: The spa and terrace facilities. Also the surrounding countryside
Disliked: Lack of staff meant that a booking we made had to be cancelled. Costs were high even for a 5 star hotel in Yorkshire and conditional service charges are not good.

Disliked: Rather tired, the furniture in the sitting rooms was very old and uncomfortable, we asked for a cup of tea when we arrived but as we had missed “high tea” so we were “allowed” a cup of tea but no biscuits or cake etc! On a dirty table. We asked for a small picnic to take on our walk the next day, just a sandwich, told it was ok then rung later to say we had to give them 24 hours notice! The code to get back into the park did not work so my husband had to climb the wall to open the gate not ideal after a 15 mile walk. The overall experience was no one was interested in going the extra mile to accommodate us. Another small but annoying thing the bed pillows were also very old and lumpy. The whole place needs a good shakeup. Maybe a better manager, the potential is there but not quite making it. The food was absolutely delicious and the Samual restaurant staff were very good.
