Not what we planned or...
Liked: LocationAir con in room
Disliked: Rooms not the best for dda compliance , lots of stairs to rooms. Charge for dogs excessive Some staff clearly uncomfortable with dogs , one particularly made her dislike very obvious. Staff not very attentive and difficult to find - distracted by wedding taking place. Car parking limited near hotel entrance, difficult to unload luggage.

Garden party stay in Lavenham
Liked: Beautiful hotel in a stunning place. Lavenham is a lovely Suffolk village and the Swan just makes it perfect

Beautiful, history romantic venue with...
Liked: Beautiful and well-maintained venue, given how old it is - very friendly and helpful staff, lovely spa and great location and amazing bar. We love this place - would definitely recommend for a romantic get away.
Disliked: We had a suite - I do appreciate just how old this beautiful property is. However, the phones didn’t work in the suite and the bath didn’t drain properly when having a shower (meaning ankle deep in water). This was brought to the attention of reception, but wasn’t rectified.We are in the Gallery restaurant one evening and we’re a little disappointed by the food (was slow had to send one dish back as the steak was too tough to eat). That was more than made up for though by the staff who were very attentive and accommodating.

Very dissapointing, would never recommend....

Disliked: The hotel is playing on its location, name and the fact it is 600 years old (which we kept being reminded of). The level and quality of service was poor, the quality of food was very poor. Totally overpriced, playing on its location and name. You would get a more premium service in a Travellodge. Breakfast, full Englaish breakfast was appauling. Presentation, quality and quantity was a shock. Pastries, only 2 croissants for the entire restuarant sitting, I asked if there were anymore as when they were brought out they were taken by 2 guests, one each, in milli seconds. I was told they are freshly baked on the premise so would have to wait. Fair enough and great they are freshly baked, but I couldnt wait I had to get somewhere. But WHO bakes 2 crooissants to feed a restaurant that has 50 tables in! Bedbroom was full of drain flies. I had what was supposed to be a nice and relaxing bath, surrounded by over 15 drain flies flying around my head. Did they know that bleech down the drain on a regular basis actually kills drain flies?
