Surfbreak Oceanfront Hotel Ascend Hotel Collection, Virginia Beach

The staff was friendly. The rooms were very clean; they had a good restaurant and bar with live music; it is conveniently located within walking distance from the 5th Street Beach concert stage; overall it was a great experience - I would recommend it to family and friends.

Liked: The ocean view was excellent.
Disliked: The TVs need to be updated.

One of the worse hotels I have ever stayed at, especially for the price! The hotel is in desperate need of renovation. When I walked into the lobby my first thought was that I hoped the room was better than the lobby. It wasnt! I would never recommend this hotel nor would I ever stay there again. Horrible!

Liked: The location was easy to find. Great view of the beach from the balcony.
Disliked: I didn't like that they didn't have their own parking facility, but they made up by offering a free parking pass in another lot for the duration of our stay, which was very accommodating. In our room, we felt they could've tried harder to clean the stains from the chaisse lounge chair. It was very dirty looking. Otherwise, the room was extremely clean.

Overall my stay was Great!...

Liked: The 2 Queen Oceanfront Suite was fantastic! I wanted the extra space for my 17 month old to be able to explore and enjoy the ocean views and of course people watch. I had just the right amount of space for her playpen and all of our additional luggage.
Disliked: The three things I didn't like is that the hotel does not offer continental breakfast, there's very limited parking spaces at the hotel itself, and the lighting in the room is a bit dim.
