Surf & Sand Laguna Beach

Not the best location in...

Liked: It’s newly renovated and my room had lots of white marble. My room looked out on the ocean. Down below, waves could be seen rolling in a wedge opening by steps. The bed and pillows were very comfortable. There is an expensive(is there any other kind in this area?)restaurant and bar overlooking the water. Live music in the evening in an outdoor courtyard. The staff were very friendly and helpful.
Disliked: The location, while on the beach, is not central and not within walking distance of the “fun” part of Laguna. I would have had to drive to reach it. My room was in the seaview section. To get to the bar or restaurant, I had to either walk through a staff area where they were setting up for a wedding, or walk through the restaurant or through the pool area. Getting to my room was confusing. The walkway faced a rather ugly mostly staff work area. Overall, it seemed very expensive and paying $65 to park overnight seems really extravagant. Rooms are almost $1000 a night. I would find a less expensive and better located place in Laguna should I be back in the area.

Liked: The property is stunning and the location is perfect.
Disliked: We didn’t receive housekeeping services, even though the light to request service was on all day. And the valet was borderline rude to us when we used the house car. Driving that car was not his favorite part of his job, and he told us so, which was very uncomfortable. It seems like they are still working out some kinks after renovation, but for the price, that level of service is really not ok.

Liked: Staff was absolutely incredible. Beautiful hotel. Restaurant was amazing. Views are exactly what you would want from a beach front location.
Disliked: Not one thing.

Liked: The location was perfect and the room was right on the ocean. The room was beautiful and the staff were all incredible and very accommodating.
Disliked: Nothing

It was beautiful and relaxing.

Liked: The view is amazing! Getting to the beach was easy. Everything you need was easy to acquire.
Disliked: I would like a variety of options for food. It was the same menu at all food venues except the coffee spot
