SureStay Hotel by Best Western Virginia Beach Royal Clipper

Liked: Everything.
Disliked: Nothing.

It was an ok experience.

Liked: This location was a block away from the beach which was perfect. Staff was very accommodating and friendly.
Disliked: The renovations seemed to have been only a paint job. The sofa bed was very old and weary which made it uncomfortable for my kids. I was fooled by the 3 star rating on this site.

This is a good place...

Liked: The price was right and while the outside can use an update, the rooms have been modernized. They were clean and the beds were comfortable. Staff was friendly! Location is a block from beach, bike rentals and shops.
Disliked: The price point and free breakfast attracts a certain crowd and there were was a bit of unpleasantness. Breakfast space is crowded but it’s a nice offering if you’re traveling on a budget! The pool is way too small to utilize for adults!

The stay was not worth...

Liked: It was close to the oceanfront.
Disliked: The cleanliness, the beds were uncomfortable, hair all in our towels. Staff wasn’t the nicest when we called to report an issue.

It was a great week...

Liked: Staff is extremely friendly and helpful. The manager himself is a really great guy, he will go out of his way personally to make sure you’re accommodated and always asking how is the stay or if there’s anything he can do for us. They have a great breakfast with make your own waffles and lots of fresh fruit, and they have a 24/7 coffee and juice bar right in the main lobby which was my favorite to take advantage of! This place is also very family friendly. The only people who we seemed to see were other families and lots of kids, which was great for our kids!
Disliked: Only thing I could say I didn’t like was the WiFi was a little bit slow, but aside from that everything was truly great.

Disappointing

Disappointed and Misled

Liked: I was disappointed …We always stay at a Best Western when traveling.I feel I was misled when I booked.Upon arrival we found out it was a Best Western Royal Clipper and not a true Best Western we were accustomed to. The price we paid for a night the facility should have been much better. I was disappointed to say the least but had no choice as I could not get a refund.I really felt like I had been robbed of the Best Western I was use to staying at. I will make sure in future bookings to make sure it’s a true facility I am use to staying at. I am glad I only booked one night … which served its purpose..a rest before my return home.
Disliked: I feel I was misled by the name… It only said Surestay by Best Western nothing about Royal Clipper
