SureStay Hotel by Best Western Seaside Monterey

Good

Liked: A basic motel suited for 1 or 2 night stay. On the cheaper side for Monterey, but still expensive to stay for too long. Easy access and free parking. Attractive older style property. Close to some restaurants and fast food outlets. About 4 to 5 miles from downtown Monterey.
Disliked: Breakfast less than basic. In 28 years I have never been to a place that had toast, but no butter. Quite comical watching guests come in looking for it. So dry toast, some dry waffles and syrup, cereal, milk, coffee and juice, that was it. Most of the motels we have stayed on the West coast seem to be doing this, advertise free breakfast, then give the minimum possible. Not the same with the motels we stayed in further inland.

Liked: The location was ok, staff was friendly
Disliked: The beds were very firm, the pillow were a bit flat. The flooring in our room was coming up, made for a tripping hazard. The light fixtures next to the bed have been updated but the holes for the old ones are still open, could be dangerous with you kids. The breakfast options were ok, but sparse.

If you like blood on...

Liked: It was close to WeatherTech Laguna Seca and the staff were friendly.
Disliked: Blood on our sheets and pillow cases

Would not recommend this hotel

Disliked: No soap included in the room. Water for shower could have been hotter. Very limited TV channel selection
