SureStay Hotel by Best Western Portland City Center

Comfortable beds if not the size advertised; clean; wifi worked in room mostly; door to bathroom coming apart at side seam, with peeling paint. Surprisingly little noise from bar right below our room or from the street outside our window. But didn't get the room as advertised online and the desk clerk couldn't resolve.

Liked: Mostly clean, friendly & helpful staff.
Disliked: Didn't have microwave as advertised online; had to ask for hairdryer.

I booked online and printed out my receipt. Wanted two queen size beds with amenities including fridge, microwave, hair dryer yada yada. Checked in and was disappointed. No amenities. There was nothing I could do and nothing your staff could have done. Would like some kind of restitution other than 'when you book online, you might get just anything other than what you thought you were getting'; as quoted by one of the hotel staff. Sorry, didn't feel safe - seedy part of town.

Good location with short visit...

Good hotel with great location...

Liked: Location is perfect to explore the city without having to drive a lot. Had a conference downtown and was within walking distance. There is also a bar and a restaurant if you need it, but a lot more is accessible not too far away. The room was clean with the essentials. Breakfast is fine, muffins, bagels, oats, yogurt, and cereals. Coffee wasn’t bad either. Staff was friendly and always available. Wifi was fast.
Disliked: Nothing. Parking can be sometimes difficult but staff is always there to help make sure guests have a spot.

Basic motel close to city...

Liked: Free parking, close to city with street car only 5 minutes walk away. Bar and restaurant on site.
Disliked: Breakfast minimal and in small stand-up location at front desk. Portland did not impress as a city, a lot of homeless people and crazies encountered on our 1 day walk around. Don't think it is really necessary to be close to the city as a tourist. Motel was located in a very busy traffic area, though, to its credit, sound proofing was good.
