Not one of the best...
Liked: I liked the location. Didn't make breakfast.
Disliked: I needed to attend my daughter's college graduation from Radford U so I came in the night of May 9 2025. I was an employee of Wyndham Hotels in the 1990s and seeing the name Wyndham attached to the Super 8 brand, I was easily sold. I was unpleasantly surprised when I found univiting, LED bulbs throughout the room which put me in mind of a dentist office and a hard bed with a 4 inch mattress sitting upon a cold steel frame. No CLEAN SHEETS as I had grown accustomed to over the years, just a bedspread and a blanket underneath. I'm sure they don't change those often. I wonder who was sleeping in those blankets before me. (yuckO) There wasn't even a box of tissues in the room! As a management staff member and department head of Wyndham Hotels, I had gone on many room checks over the years but the standard of this place wasn't even in the same ballpark. In fact, the decor was from the 1990s only not kept up with, it's just been kept and not renovated. This hotel badly needs renovation. The toilet had to have been manufactured in the late 80s. There were no movies and the entertainment system was completely non existent. Where's the pay per view? Where's the streaming internet on the TV? This is 2025 why no smart TV? One final note is that the hotel was full the night I stayed and the party next door kept me awake until after 1:00 AM with their TV up nearly all the way, talking and laughing and then woke me up again at 6:30 AM with their TV again, up much too loud. There were kids running the halls until all hours but I just grinned and bore it. Definitely not one of my more pleasant stays. Wyndham, if you're going to put your name on a place, make sure it meets your standards set back in the 90s.
