The Spotlight on Super 8 by Wyndham Long Island City LGA Hotel

Affordable Convenience Close to NYC’s Music Action

Modern and budget-friendly, the Super 8 by Wyndham Long Island City LGA Hotel is nestled in Astoria, just six blocks from the 21st Street Subway station. This no-frills hotel is a smart pick for music fans who want easy access to Manhattan without paying Midtown prices. With free parking, free Wi-Fi, and a reliable 24-hour front desk, it’s a solid base for a concert-fueled trip to the city.

The vibe here is simple and straightforward—clean rooms with essentials like a cable TV, work desk, and electronic locks. Breakfast to-go helps you hit the city early (or sleep in after a late night). At just 3 miles from Times Square and Central Park, you’re never far from the action.

Why Concert-goers love it

This hotel is ideal for fans heading into Manhattan for a show—it’s just a short subway ride away, making late-night returns easy and affordable. The free on-site parking is a huge perk if you're road-tripping in. While not a party hub itself, the area is relatively quiet for post-show wind-downs. Early check-in isn’t guaranteed, but the 24-hour front desk is helpful if you're arriving late from a gig.

Who this Hotel is great for

- Groups of friends looking for a crash pad near the city
- Solo travelers chasing a dream concert in NYC
- Couples after a low-key, affordable weekend
- Anyone who wants a quiet night's rest after loud live music
- Fans needing budget-friendly digs with good transport links

Food and Drink Options

- Complimentary breakfast to-go starts your day right—even after a late night
- No on-site restaurant, but Astoria has plenty of walkable eateries
- Late-night bites are within a quick rideshare or delivery range
- Room service is not offered, but nearby diners and delis stay open late

Nightlife Options

- Not a nightlife destination itself, but close to Manhattan’s hotspots
- Short subway ride to NYC's top bars, clubs, and live music venues
- Astoria’s neighborhood bars offer a more relaxed, local scene
- No on-site bar, but several within a 10-minute drive or walk

What People Say

Guests appreciate the clean rooms, quiet location, and value for money. The free parking is consistently praised, especially this close to Manhattan. Travelers also like the convenient subway access and say the hotel is a smart base for exploring NYC without paying high city-center prices.

Areas for Improvement

Rooms are on the smaller side and could use some updating, but they’re clean and functional. With no elevator, those with heavy luggage may want to request a lower floor. Breakfast is simple—think quick bites, not gourmet—but it does the job when you're on the go.

The Bottom Line

A solid, no-frills choice for concert-goers who want affordable access to NYC’s music scene with perks like free parking and a quiet place to crash.

Insane that this cost $300.

Liked: nothing
Disliked: My colleague whom I booked for would not even take a shower and ended up sleeping in his clothes because of how dirty everything was. Cigarette burns everywhere and jacuzzi in a room he would not have stepped in shoes. I felt so bad that I booked this for him and ended up apologizing.

Superb

Liked: Discrete and friendly staff. Clean and comfortable rooms. Great neighbourhood with a vintage diner (Belair) a block away on Broadway, plenty of shops and restaurants on the way to the subway and best of all : a superb little "Italian and Mexican" food restaurant two blocks away on 14th street (on the corner)... try the spaghetti with meatballs, best we've ever tasted! Better than in Little Italy!
Disliked: Not much. The breakfast is really really basic but that shouldn't be a problem with a great diner so near. The subway station (Broadway) is a good walk away (between 10 and 15 minutes) but the W and N lines take you everywhere in the heart of Manhattan.

Dirty hotel.

Liked: Easy to access by Uber.
Disliked: Staff at the night of May 16th extremely rude. No “please” or “thank you” when demanding ID and signature of guest documentation. Zero friendly or welcoming.Room dirty: Mold in shower. Live spider on bathroom ceiling. Dirty room carpet. Dead mosquito on drapes.“Breakfast” comprised of orange juice directly of a jug, iced yogurt and packaged granola bars.
