Super 8 by Wyndham Lawrence

The Quality Inn was a very enjoyable stay! The beds were soft and all the amenities were in good order and up-to-date. The staff was extremely kind and courteous. I would recommend this place to my friends.

Clean rooms, front desk staff was super friendly. Breakfast was great, fresh waffles, bisquits and gravy.

Liked: Clean, friendly staff, great continental breakfast.
Disliked: The bed was not very comfortable, but I am spoiled by my bed at home!

Hotel is condemned,no longer exists

Disliked: The property was condemned/closed. This hotel is no longer open. I was not notified of this information by booking. I arrived to the hotel and was met with boarded up does and windows. I actually received reminders of my reservation with this hotel from booking the week of my trip. I contacted booking to inquire about my reservation and the closing of the hotel. They immediately said their records showed Booking was notified the hotel was no longer in business. I was stranded, no place to stay. Booking costumer service refunded my money for my reservation but they did not book me in another hotel. I was in Lawrence Kansas for Dads weekend. The hotels are ridiculously priced for these weekends. Hence why I made my reservation several months in advance. I had no place to stay. I had to sleep in my car. I would have expected Booking to find me a hotel for two nights for the same price as my original reservation. This obviously was not done I am astonished that Booking admitted to knowing they were informed about the hotel closer. There was no notification sent to me about the closer of the hotel but I did receive confirmation from booking about my reservation at the hotel. I would expect compensation for my inconvenience

I wont go there again!!!

Disliked: Security doors did not work properly. Room had an odd smell. I found ants crawling all over heat ac unit. Desk clerk jumped me for blocking door open. The security lock was messed up.

I am glad it was...

Liked: I like that the property was so close to KU for the graduation. However, the value for what was paid was excessive.
Disliked: It is old and needs to be re-caulked around the tub areas

Liked: A roof over our head!
Disliked: There were 3 attempts by strangers to get into our bedroom after we got our room finally. First we were told to go into a room already used too. We had an hour wait before we did get a room.

It should have only cost...

Liked: It was a king size bed
Disliked: Hallway smelled like urine. Other customers were complaining while we were checking in of keys not being correct and a little girl accidentally walked in on a different couple having sex. Also complaining of uncleanliness in rooms. Our specific room was all right. Our television did not work, however.

Liked: Nothing except staff.
Disliked: Hotel is in horrendous condition! Didn’t stay long after seeing condition of rooms. Soiled carpets, tile nasty dirty, rooms stunk and AC not working but fans really loud. I refused to subject myself and my family to such poor conditions and requested refund and left. Wyndham rep should visit this location unannounced as it’s a very poor representation for W brand. Same owner has more hotels in this town and can’t imagine shape of others with this one so poor. Even for a budget price stay this hotel is a bust. I’ve stayed in other Super 8 hotels that were very nicely maintained so I know it’s the difference in owners. We knew it was bad when staff said they wouldn’t stay there.

Horrible and uncomfortable stay.

Disliked: No elevator, no air conditioning, black mold on vents, tv never worked, sink faucet constantly dripping, ceiling falling down on bath towels, hot tub drain had to pried open, stains on furniture and sheets, stale and foul smell.
