Super 8 by Wyndham Lake George/Downtown

Bad

Disliked: We had a very negative experience with this motel. Upon check-in, we were informed at the front desk that the property had not received payment from Booking.com, despite the fact that the amount had already been charged to our card by Booking.com.Instead of promptly resolving the issue with Booking.com directly, the manager asked us to provide a credit card, stating multiple times that it was only for a deposit. However, the full amount was charged to our card a second time. We were then told to handle the matter with Booking.com ourselves, which is completely unacceptable!This level of service is extremely poor — the worst we’ve encountered in this area. We have visited Lake George multiple times and have never experienced anything like this before. We are deeply disappointed and cannot recommend this motel to others.

Superb

Liked: Great location, quiet, friendly staff.
Disliked: There is almost nothing offered for the free breakfast, only fruits and granola bars.

Liked: The granola bars were really good. Right across the street from a convince store too.

Great for a short stay

Liked: Basic room for a stay, clean but small, bathroom was clean but tight fit, staff was very friendly and accommodating
Disliked: Breakfast was provided but just coffee (which was excellent) oj and a fig bar. Would have been nice to have some muffins, Danish or yogurt and maybe an assortment of juices and maybe a bottle of water.

Disliked: Room was cold when we arrived

A great home base for...

Liked: The location was perfect for what we wanted to do. Many restaurants & pubs within walking distance.

Liked: The price was very good compared to other properties in the area.
Disliked: The heat wasn’t on when we got to the room. The room was freezing and it took several hours to warm up. Also, when we looked at this property on Booking.com it showed that breakfast was included, it was not. We booked two rooms, one smelled clean, the other smelled musty and damp.

Disliked: Continental breakfast was not open before I left at 7:30. Drive area was not well plowed... much was icy. I realize that the recent weather conditions made this the case all over, but area in front of inside walkway could have been better cleared. Stay was booked through web agent. Was unable to find a phone number to contact the property directly. Is it possible to book directly with a Super 8? All was clean, but the toilet was the smallest round seat, low unit I have ever seen. Needs updating.
