Super 8 by Wyndham Kalamazoo

I've never given a bad review before but this place was dirty. Did not feel safe there. Did not stay for a second night even though we had prepaid and lost money. I will say that there were nice places to shop and eat out nearby. The 131 drag strip was 15 minutes away. We would not recommend this hotel.

Liked: Desk people were nice.
Disliked: Room was dirty - used shampoo and soap in shower. Toilet needed cleaning. Bedspread had old stains on it - like from a pet. TV only got one channel. Lots of people hanging around the lobby. When we took our dog out at night people were standing by the door smoking cigs and other substances. The lock on outside door of hotel was broken; someone came and looked at TV but had no solution; garbage laying around building.

Don't even consider it - run as fast as you can!

Liked: Parking.
Disliked: It was disgusting. The room smelled like cigarettes; the tub was nasty; there was a glob of soap in the sink drain and no plug; the rooms were loud; the bedspread had cigarette burns, and stains. The rails to walk upstairs were loose. The deadbolt didn't work. There was no toilet paper holder! We got what we paid for and I will never stay at another.

Hotel needs a lot of work. Our room door was broken at the top hinge; was hard to close and we could not use the deadbolt to secure it. Fridge was plugged in to the "timed" plug. Whatever was in it was lost in the morning. Breakfast area was dirty, even though Tisha was stretched out on one the of the tables, sleeping. I was told she hadn't started working yet. No one on duty for over 45 minutes on Sunday morning for checkout or checkin. Tisha did stand up and walk about 10 feet to look down the hall to see if she could see anyone before she went back to her table and sat down. Would never stay at this motel again.

Liked: They did give us clean towels and the bed was made up on the second day.
Disliked: Just about everthing else. Poor management; facility needs a lot of work, including security features.

Other than someone had stolen our remote which was replaced and housekeeping didn't put clean towels in our room it was a great stay. Very friendly and helpful staff - will be coming back next year.

Liked: Very friendly staff and very helpful; good location.
Disliked: No towels in room.
