Super 8 by Wyndham Indianapolis South

My family and I stayed in this hotel from October 5, 2017 to October 7, 2017. They had a sign on the door stating they were renovating and such, which was no big deal. We got in and we checked in and went to our rooms. It was a decent sized room, but you'd think with four people and a baby staying in there we would have trash cans a little bit bigger than the size of a two liter bottle laying flat. My mom asked the front desk for extra pillows and they said they would bring them by the room shortly. An hour or two goes by, still no pillows, so my cousin goes to the front desk and asks again, once again we wait and then about another hour later, one of the people working called down saying that she couldn't find any pillows and that she didn't have the key to the laundry room, so we couldn't get any extra pillows. Each bed had a sheet, a blanket and then some kind of curtain thing that was to be used as a blanket I guess? I'm not really sure. The bed I shared with my cousin was leaning on one side like too many people had sat on that side of the bed. Nobody ever came to give us new blankets or new towels or anything of the sorts. Our trash cans were full numerous times and we had to take them to the door that was outside and throw them in that trash can which was full for two days. The bathroom when you first walk into the hotel is disgusting and should probably be closed; they claimed to offer laundry services for guests, but it was out of order and didn't seem like it would be useable anyways. The ice bucket we were given seemed more like the kind of thing you put in your bathroom that holds hand soaps. They served free breakfast, but the orange juice machine was 'out of order', so the only option was coffee. They had no smoking signs all throughout the hotel and we were told if you smoked in the rooms, there would be a $200 fee added to your account for your stay, but the first two nights we were there, it smelled like 'marijuana' - you could smell it at the end of the hallway to the other end of the hallway; it took my mom and another guests for somebody to do something about it. At one point Friday, my dad used the bathroom and he saw a cockroach and when there's one there's normally more; there was also a spider crawling around that seemed like it came out of nowhere. The people that were working at the front desk didn't seem very interested in their jobs - they were either playing on their phones or outside the front door of the building smoking when the sign on the door said it was against state laws to smoke in front of the door. After we got back from the zoo on Friday morning, the key card wouldn't work, so they had to reactivate them and they made it sound like we did something wrong. This was our first time traveling and the motel stay was very interesting to say the least.

Liked: I didn't like anything about this property.
Disliked: Staff was not professional or friendly. Poor attitudes during both check in and check out. Upon entering the building, you were instantly hit with a foul odor. The hallways were filthy, bugs flying around, dirty walls and carpeting ect. When entering the room, it not only smelled terrible but was very dirty! Sheets were stained, holes in the curtains, bathroom had hair all over the floor and tub from previous guests and to top it all off, we saw a roach run across the floor. Will absolutely not be back or recommended to anyone!

It was okay other then...

Liked: There was a big ass rat running in the ceiling heard it when I went to go get ice then the ice Machine was out and leaking checked out the next morning smh

I would not stay here

Disliked: My daughter and I checked in on Sunday. At check in, I gave them the paperwork for my and explained we were homeless, but were expecting a house in a couple of days. It fell through. I went to the desk on Wednesday and extended my stay until Sunday. 1030 am Thursday morning the manager knocked on the door and told us to check out. No explanation. Check out at 11. Very rude and unprofessional. Will NEVER stay here again.

Exceptional

Worst Super 8 I've ever...

Liked: AC works.
Disliked: No pool, no juice, 1- 40 watt light bulb in kitchen, couldn't see very well. Slim pickens for breakfast. Old mattress. Stains on mattress where bedbugs had been at one time. $ 120 deposit which you get back after they count the towels. Maid does sloppy work.
