Sums and dirty!

Liked: This hotel is very unclean! There was a lingering smell of dirty carpets and smell like something was decaying behind the wall. The bedroom sheets were filthy, and the comforter had noticeable things on it. I literally laid clothes down and laid on top of them until the morning. Soon as the sun came up, I checked out!
Disliked: The filthiness of the whole hotel!

Disliked: The place was a little run down. Definitely not worth what was paid for a one night stay.

Be AWARE. DO NOT GO

Liked: The online price seemed good. As did the promise of a breakfast. The room was ok. The hotel itself is older and dated. But that is not the problem. Once in the room we realized only 1 of 3 lamps in the room worked. We tried to "wiggle" or unplug the cords and plug them in again No success. Most disturbing was the "pop" after trying to insert a charging cord into the port on the lamp. To us that IS a potential safety hazard. The hair dryer in the bathroom did not work. As for the shower it was either scalding or freezing and initially refused to work. Breakfast was a joke. To be fair the staff person mentioned it was minimal. That is an understatement. At 7:20 am. There were 2 peices of white bread. No condiments of any kind. Some Great Value Frosted Flakes in a box on the counter. And there was a dispenser for Froot Loops. No fruit of any kind. No muffins No hard boiled eggs Very very little A few yogurt containers in a fridge with a milk pitcher. Just awful. They required a 50 dollar security deposit on our arrival. SO we did report the issues to the desk. They were incredulous. We said it was to prevent us being charged for issues in the room. And also to be sure those problems were checked b4 renting the room again. It was RM 109. The manager on duty went down to the room and jiggled and finessed the cords and shower some to get them to "work" THIS should NOT happen. Management should NOT have to come into a room and " fuss ' with essentials to get them to function minimally. In summary DO NOT GO HERE
Disliked: See above it's a laundry list. There lots not to like.

Exceptional

Liked: Clean rooms located by the bus stop (fare is only a dollar in Collinsville). They are conveniently located across from the Gateway Convention Center as well as walking distance to a steak house (Colton's), White Castle and Arby's). If you are religious and don't want to drive there is also a church that is walking distance from the hotel. The bus route (21) takes you directly pass on route to a bevy of other restaurants and stores (especially Walmart). It also goes to the bus depot in downtown if you want to a drink or eat at a couple of the authentic Italian restaurants. The only downside I experienced is that the bus only runs to 5:30 pm or so but if you drove you can still experience everything I described.

Disappointing

Disliked: there was no toilet paper or cleanx. the remote for the tv did not work. every time tv was turn on it had to reset and find channels that took all of ten minutes
