Super 8 by Wyndham Calgary Shawnessy Area

Fantastic idea for a staycation - we had time to swim, do some shopping, swim, eat a good breakfast, swim and, oh yeah, attend the Scrapbooking Marathon!

Liked: Comfy beds; great pool and hot tub; easy to find; close to our event.

Liked: The location was awesome! So many great businesses near by. The staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful. The facility is great. I love that there’s surveillance on each floor. Very welcoming with many amenities!
Disliked: We had the family room, we’re a family of 6. It was a nice set up, we did enjoy the layout however we had some issues with the beds. They weren’t as comfortable as we hoped. Lots of tossing and turning/squeaking through the night. Parking lot under some maintenance but surely nothing prolonged. Extra parking in the back. There were several contractors staying here, hanging out drinking and smoking (weed) by the entrance at the back. Somewhat of a bother, seeing as we had children with us. I’m sure it not constant or long term but was a bit of an issue for us.

Liked: Eventhough the hotel is close to a main highway, it was quiet at night. Lots of stores and services nearby, walkable too.
Disliked: For some reason, I cannot adjust the heat temperature in the room I was at.
