Super 8 by Wyndham Akron S/Green/Uniontown OH

I was a bit wary after reading the reviews. The front desk staff was very friendly. I had driven for 5 hrs to make it to the venue that started at 2:30. Check in wasn't officially until 3 but she allowed me to go get ready when the room wasn't ready. My fiance smokes and there were smoking rooms available which is hard to find these days. The mattress was a bit springy but not uncomfortable to the point you couldn't rest. The best part was no bugs! The horrible reviews I don't understand at all; the pool was fine; the hottub was hot. If you're expecting a 5 star experience go to a 5 star hotel! I didn't eat but they had a waffle maker and batter dispenser, cereal coffee and juice. I did have some OJ and it was just fine. I'd stay again.

Disliked: Almost nothing matched what was shown on Booking.com. Pets ok:DOGS ONLY. Early check-in:nonexistent. Staff loud arguing in foreign language at front desk. All this before I was checked in. Had to leave and return at regular check in time 4 hours later. Ruined my plans. Price at the counter was $30 less than what I booked. NO SOAP IN THE ROOM, JUST ONE small tube each of SHAMPOO AND CONDITIONER FOR TWO PEOPLE! Pool was closed and dark. No work-out facilities found.

Disliked: They don't do any cleaning at all, the management doesn't monitor it and isn't strict about the "no smoking rules they have there"I booked for 8 nights (May 22nd to 30th), but my wife and I had to do some cleaning on our 1st day because there was dust on the fridge, microwave... and bathroom was dirty. On the 23rd, around 1 p.m., the cleaning lady arrived, but we asked her to come back the next day (we prefer every other day), but she never came back, neither did she, nor anyone else. On the morning of March 26th, I went to the reception desk, explained the situation, and asked them to send someone to clean my room that day. Finally, around 1 p.m., the cleaning lady arrived, and we asked her to give us 10 minutes to leave the room, as she said she couldn't clean if we were there. My wife and I left and came back around 4 p.m., but nothing was done or changed. The next day (March 27th), I went back to the reception desk and explained the situation in detail to the manager. Finally, someone was able to clean my room and change the towels that day.Aside from that, on the 23rd night, my wife called me because there was a lot of noise and running in the hallway and the smell of weed in the hallway that was entering our room, and she didn't feel safe staying there. When I got home from work around 7:00 a.m., there was still a strong smell of weed in the hallway and our room.I will never ever stay in the super 8 by Wyndham and for real avoid it if you wan

Liked: Smoking or non smoking has no impact on operations besides the price and fees the hotel will impose. Take photos upon checking in if your room and take pictures with staff present before checking out; you will incur fees for unsubstantiated reasons / no proof besides a note.
Disliked: Management in the hotel will not work with booking.com and will not cater to Wyndham Rewards anything; you will need to follow up after check out to hopefully get points or fix the increase in rates. Avoid filing complaints and file a demand with an attorney, as the hotel staff is incapable and unauthorized to assist with guest complaints. Wyndham will provide the contact information if the property owner if they feel the hotel is at fault. You will address concerns to Mr. Y. Patel of Ohio. Do not accept "someone will get back to you".

Disliked: There was nobody at the front desk the whole time we were staying there for one, as soon as we got to the hotel it was disgusting! I had to buy cleaning supplies just to clean it because I couldn’t get a refund there was cigarette burns and stains on the blankets and sheets, candy and food in the AC unit so we couldn’t use it, the floors and walls were disgusting and the sink and tub had cigarette burns and it was a NON smoking room!!! We were so grossed out! The tv and remote didn’t work and there was nobody at the desk to ask about it and the WiFi didn’t work!!! The pool was cloudy and gross and it was $10 per guest to swim!!! We didn’t use it! The noise in the room was ridiculous too it was so hard to sleep! All in all it was a horrible place to stay we will NEVER be back there again
