Sundance Mountain Resort

Great winter escape!

Liked: Beautiful landscape. Beautiful resort.
Disliked: Shuttles between rooms and facilities. Also took too long.

Sundance "Act 2" might not...

Liked: The rooms were gorgeous, the property well maintained. The new pool was lovely and largely the staff was super helpful and professional. I liked the perfume class and my family enjoyed the zipline.
Disliked: There was a lot of construction this summer as the resort has been bought up by a private equity firm who has chosen to prioritize density. What that looks like is cutting down old growth trees to build 6 townhomes and a 63 room inn. My yoga class was in a yurt next to where they were chainsawing the trees into pieces and running bulldozers. We had to stop early due to the noise. I wish I'd visited Sundance back in the day, I could feel what that might have felt like but based on what I saw I won't be back to ski or stay in the future. Food was average. We had to eat in the deli far more than I wanted due to scheduling and few lunch options. The mountain bun was the only decent pastry/sandwich/flatbread/salad that we ate. Foundry grill dinner was meh.

Liked: Beautiful surroundings and facilities! Natural, tranquil, and a wonderful pool area. Currently a lot of construction as they are building a new inn, but overall our stay was wonderful!!
Disliked: Current construction of new inn (august 2024) but thats temporary...

Top-notch skiing so close to Salt Lake. Loved it

Liked: The ski area itself was fun to ski. Had a variety of runs. And the restaurants were top-notch. Great restaurants all in one place/area. And stores as well as photos of Redford and by-gone times.
Disliked: No frig or microwave in the unit. Also, some cobwebs but had that taken care of. Otherwise nice view and nice warm unit.
