Liked: Our first time staying at SunViking Lodge I’ve stayed all over Daytona & will stay here again! Comfy beds, full kitchen stocked to cook, beautiful views of ocean, spotless room & grounds, wonderful staff & loved the cafe by the pool for breakfast & lunch the cook was awesome! 10 out of 10 will recommend to friends to stay & will be back next year!

Bad

Liked: I liked the location and that was about it.
Disliked: We have previously stayed with sun Viking. Our first time was exceptional with activities for the kids, movies on the lawn, the water slide, and clean pool area and grounds. Since the slide was destroyed in the hurricane it seems to have gone downhill. We originally booked to check in the 28th and check out the 5th we left on the 30th due to cleanliness issues, bird poop on loungers, musty mildew smell in rooms, and continuing to get the run around about when exactly they planned to have the hot tub up and working. I understand they don't know exactly but I kept being reassured it would be ready "later today" or "tomorrow morning" communication between front desk and pool maintenance seems to be non existent and when I became frustrated the workers spoke to me with an annoyed attitude. I HATE to complain. I use to work housekeeping and front desk so I know the customer is NOT always right and we all just try to do our best, but when it comes to maintaining a facility on the beach I do believe this place needs to implement some new strategies to keep it running smoothly; the kids love this place so we were disheartened to have such a bad experience. We have not written it completely off and look forward to trying it out again in the future!

Liked: I like use of indoor and outdoor pool with closed in hot tub! Rooms are spacious and roomy.
Disliked: The Cafe should have longer hours or be open for lunch and dinner. Nobody was even up for Breakfast hours and then it closes way too early.

Liked: Cora was amazing.! Check in was easy and quick.! Accommodated very well to any questions we had.! Beautiful staff and very nice.! The hotel rooms we booked were clean and very nice.! Loved we were right on the beach as well.! A very beautiful place and would stay again.! I would recommend this hotel with no doubts.!
Disliked: The rooms right in the beginning by the office. For kids it’s not an ideal placement; but other than placement of the first few rooms amazing.!

Liked: The property is perfect for families with kids! We had a hiccup with our reservation but Mike and his staff were absolutely amazing throughout the entire trip! We will be back for sure!
Disliked: Needs some updating and we sure missed the slide but it was still great!
