Damp and noisy rooms ruined...

Liked: - The location of the hostel was good for both the city centre and for the stadium (Suncorp). - Toilets were clean.
Disliked: - The room we stayed in was damp. This made our bedding damp towards the end of our stay. We did mention this and the staff informed us it’s because the windows could not open. - The hostel itself isn’t just for backpackers or people travelling. Whilst that’s fair, it also meant a lot of people coming in/out of our room on one-night stays and they weren’t very respectful of the space. Lots of noise on a night and inconsiderate guests kept us awake or woke us up. This was every night. - The staff also added to this issue and we even had some of them come in (3 of them in one room to change one bed) and shouted loudly to each other whilst we were in the room. - There was lots of noise from building work taking place outside which we didn’t know would be happening. - As others have said, for the size of the hostel and amount of guests, the facilities aren’t amazing. The kitchen is quite small and there are only one set of toilets/showers.

Liked: Calm, relax and clean. All the staff was so nice and respectful with others. The kitchen is prepared with the essentials. Annie was always giving support for the guest enquiries. I recommend this place

Liked: Had a room with the window on the ceiling so you can really stay in bed and ventilate, kitchen is super small for that many people.Staff are friendly but it's cost ineffective
Disliked: Small kitchen, rooms, going down stairs for shower and toilet

Great location and comfortable hostel

Liked: I had a very smooth arrival in Brisbane after taking a late night train. The hostel is located next to the train station and there is a night warden for late check-ins. Comfortable rooms. The hostel was very clean and tidy, a high quality hostel like usual in the hostels of Summer House.

It was decent.

Liked: I liked the kitchen setup.
Disliked: It would be beneficial to have instructions provided on the usage of the facilities and their proper operation.

No frills Brisbane hostel

Liked: It was very clean and that is maintained. The location is easy to find and it is easy to check in and get sorted. Great air con. The cafe is well priced.
Disliked: The hot water in the bathroom was intermittent and barely warm. There was no hot water for several days due to refurbishment - no apology or discount offered. It is expensive for what it is, but all hostels in Brisbane are over-priced and this is the best value of them. The area is grotty but very close to everything and excellent transport links.
