It was ok. I would...
Liked: Hot breakfast (they made special non-dairy eggs for another guest). Hot water in shower. Close proximity to bus. Pleasant hosts.
Disliked: I was moved from south Vancouver to west Vancouver without notice. It was much farther to airport. Residential area. My room was not as photographed. Used and repurposed furniture & accents, many were cracked, soiled or warped; maybe due to a recent change in venue. Bathroom was not attached. I would have hoped to be notified or answers to my questions I sent via Booking.com. No replies. This may work for persons driving THROUGH Vancouver. Use shuttle service ONLY if necessary; it is a BMW coupe.

Lovely side of town and...
Liked: Comfortable room and lovely lounge, breakfast was very nice
Disliked: Contacting them was difficult and through a third party, location was shifted from same side of city as airport to one on the other side of the bridge and I wasn’t notified by booking.com. This made our trip to the airport much longer . Pick up service was not very reliable as was an hour late.

Liked: The property I booked in September 2023 was sold to a new owner in June 2023. The new owner has had quite a few problems with people arriving to stay at her family home - I was one of these unfortunate people.Whilst between flights on my way to Vancouver (in February 2024)I was texted by a UK number advising me that the address of my accommodation in Quesnel Drive had changed to a completely different location. I couldn’t do anything about this last minute notification and on arrival headed to the Quesnel Drive address to find out this was a private residence. After 17 hours of travelling this was not what I needed. At 930pm at night I was not prepared to trail across Vancouver to find out the “new” accommodation didn’t exist either. The text message sent by the host advising me of the new address contained a link to the new accommodation. On clicking this link the website didn’t exist. Absolute disaster. I’m currently waiting for a full refund from booking.com for this non existent accommodation. I’ve complained several times and am now waiting 30 days to find out if I will be refunded. In the meantime I had to fork out for a week’s accommodation elsewhere never mind the stress. On further investigation it appears that this accommodation is a scam. Do not book Smart Suite Vancouver- it does not exist.

Very comfortable and nice
Liked: The place is a remodel Tudor mansion very comfortable and warm, the bed is incredible soft. The owner was so nice and kind, he was always open to help you in anything you need, he is a very kind person. Location is very close to bus station and near to Capilano bridge. Breakfast was very nice and delicious.

Possibly a scam.
Liked: We didn’t go.
Disliked: The night before, admin messaged me and said their location had changed from fairly near the airport (which we had to be at early in the morning) to very far away from it. They gave me the option of staying at the new location or cancelling and getting my money back to stay at a different location. I chose the latter. They stopped responding to me when I wanted to change to somewhere close to the airport (even though they had listed that as an option) and everything else we were doing in Vancouver (we had no transportation to get around, we were coming from the ferry). We still have not gotten reimbursed. Very frustrating.

SCAM or OUTDATED listing --...
Liked: THIS PROPERTY IS ABANDONED. We arrived, the door was locked, and it was evident looking through the living room window the place was cleaned out. No furniture. nothing.BOOKING.COM, take down this listing now!!
Disliked: I disliked that BOOKING.COM doesn't vet their listings. Will never use this service again. Advice to others -- ALWAYS get a human on the phone when booking a place in advance in another city, and check multiple web sites to cross-reference the listing to ensure it's legit.
