Hotel Description
Sturdys Castle is a 400 year old coaching inn that features a bar restaurant and free parking. Sturdy's Castles hotel is located in a separate building behind the main pub. The accommodations is split over two levels unfortunately there is not a elevator to the second floor. If you require a ground floor room please contact us and we will be happy to accommodate requests where possible. We have 18 bedrooms that are a mix of Twin bedded rooms or King bedded rooms. We offer free WiFi and Sky TV in our Rooms. In the mornings guests can select breakfast from the breakfast menu. The restaurant also serves traditional dishes and pub classics. Sturdys Castle is located in the heart of the Oxfordshire countryside between the villages of Tackley and Kidlington. The location is convenient for visiting the market town of Woodstock which is home to Blenheim Palace and is just 4 miles from the country inn and located within 1 mile of London Oxford Airport. The university city of Oxford is just 20 minutes' drive away.

Nice welcoming pub with excellent...

Liked: Food was amazing. Fab cooked breakfast & the Indian meal I had in the evening was probably one of the best I have had.
Disliked: Bathroom a little tired, but fully functional.

Superb

Liked: We stayed overnight for a second time to visit Blenium Palace. Comfortable clean rooms. The staff make this place, friendly and helpful. Staff are always attentive, can't do enough for you. Lovely comfortable bar and restaurant and lovely food.
Disliked: Breakfast, cold buffet a little disappointing in choice but hot breakfast was delicious.

Summer night stay

Liked: We chose the property for the convenience of getting to Blenheim palace - the room was clean and comfortable. We also ate in the onsite restaurant and had a lovely meal especially the ice cream dessert which was one of the nicest ice creams I think I’ve ever eaten. All of the staff were polite and friendly.
Disliked: The shower curtain over the bath /shower !

Would definitely stay again.

Liked: Food in restaurant was excellent with service to match. Location suited us as we were attending an event nearby. We had requested a ground floor room which was ready for us on arrival.All staff we encountered were friendly and efficient.
Disliked: A suggestion would be that although clean and well equipped the room and bathroom would benefit from some redecoration. That said we would definitely stay again if in the area.

Bedroom very disappointing. Not worth...

Liked: Main building is beautiful, old & full of character
Disliked: The bedroom we stayed in was very tired looking and can do with re decorating. Had a feeling of being in a hostel. Cobwebs on the ceiling. They need to improve on the cleaning of the room
