Strickland Arms Bed and Breakfast

Everything we love about staying...

Liked: Beautiful old home with a fascinating history - loved meeting the owners, as well as the property manager. Appreciated the wide selection of tea bags (rare!) and the individual packs of dry cereal available at all times. Very thoughtful to have several types of milk in the refrigerator, as well.
Disliked: A variety of breakfasts would have been nice, instead of the same eggs/bacon/biscuits every morning. (Of course, we didn't ask if something else was possible...)

Charming and beautiful place to...

Liked: The history and charm of the B&B, the beautiful garden! The peacefulness and quietness away from the hustle and bustle. The personal service by the staff/owner and not just a computerized check in. Breakfast was good, everything was fresh. The pool and yard was beautiful. We met Barb and she was a very nice lady and it was very nice to visit with her. Definitely will stay again when we visit Austin. It does have its one parking as well. And at night there is even fireflies. Something you dont see often in cities. The neighborhood was quiet and safe and close enough to the Moody Center without the noise of the city. The place is very old and has history to it but very nice.

Treated like royalty!

Liked: Loved the period furnishings and art work. We were in the Sir David room and it was very pretty with a comfy bed and super nice sheets. There were lots of towels in the bathroom and they were super soft. The AC unit in our room kept the temperature very comfortable. The host was friendly and very charming. I felt like a very special guest in his home. The location was great with several nice restaurants within a mile.
Disliked: We had to get on the road by 8 am and unfortunately the cooked breakfast was not available until 9 am, which we did not know in advance. However, our host made sure there was fruit, yogurt, cereal, juice, coffee and tea available early for us, and that was much appreciated.

Quiet and Relaxing; Wonderful Breakfast!

Liked: A charming, walkable neighborhood that is pleasantly quiet. Both the owner and site manager were friendly and helpful. They offer a variety of breakfast options, but the cooked breakfast is truly outstanding!

Disliked: Did not get to have breakfast because it was only served at 9 AM. No flexibility in timing if you had to leave earlier. Most B&Bs have a breakfast window and try to accommodate their guests, that was disappointing.

Liked: A very beautiful old house, decorated with a lot of effort and detail.The rooms are comfortable and the bed is great. Or we were just very tired :)
Disliked: Unfortunately breakfast was at 9am and we had to leave earlier both days, so we didn't get a chance to try it.The coffee is great.
