Strawberry Bank Hotel NEC

Stayed for the Richie Blackmore concert at the Genting Arena. Very good hotel to stay at close to the arena. Clean; friendly and helpful.

Disliked: Sorry to have to say this, the biggest let down was the evening meal I ordered. The stake and ale pie was not too bad to be fair, I guess it was the taste of the asparagus "that was dreadful".. the banoffe crumble was so bad. I did let the staff know and to be fair they did offer to change it, but guess at that point I just had enough. On saying all that I may still book for next year and select a different meal.

Liked: A beautiful place, amazing garden and facilities. Staff were excellent. Only slight disappointment was the room which was a little dated. Didn't take away from an amazing experience though.

Cheap overnight stay

Liked: Clean room, free parking. Easy book in.
Disliked: Room was clean, and recently modernised, felt a little unloved. Towel rail had been removed with marks in floor where pipes went through with a towel rack screwed in its place. In winter I imagine the ensuite would be cool as no heating in there. Cheap plastic toilet seat that was wobbly. In bedroom there was no table lamps and wall lights either side of bed did not work, so main light or nothing, had to get out of bed to turn off light. Arrived late just to use room for a quick stop over so did not mention to staff. Had a function on, which was noisy in reception area but was quiet in room and did not disturb us.
