Staff excellent, fire safety... not...
Disliked: This is a 4* hotel!!! So can someone tell me why in neither of the two rooms we had, there wasn't a toilet brush? I don't know about you and your standards, but leaving 'marks' in the toilet bowl is not something I enjoy doing and not having the equipment to clean up after myself is pretty disgusting, and I'm pretty certain that the hotel cleaning staff don't enjoy having to clean up this sort of 'sight' from the guests. Sharing a room with someone who are going to have to cope with the sight of each other's business is not something I'd expect at a 4* hotel.Also... why are the fire doors mag-locked open? There are signs on each door stating.. "fire door. please keep shut", yet the hotel has added magnetic locks to the doors so they're kept open... day and night. I'm thinking that, the mag-locks disengage when the fire alarm goes off... that's assuming that it works. I'm guessing that these are tested no more than once a week. Nice of the hotel to gamble with my life, hoping that after the last test, that nothing has gone wrong with the mag-locks... fire sensors... fire alarms!!! I can't believe that this can be acceptable, as no one can guarantee that everything will work 100%, 100% of the time. Also... £4.50 for a small basket of fries? Then again... I suppose it's a 4* hotel, so one would expect prices like this... then again... one would also expect a toilet brush in a 4* hotel too!Seriously Manor House... Unimpressed!

Overall a lovely place to...
Liked: Excellent location easy to find with a pleasant drive way and large car park. All areas in the hotel had plenty of space and it never felt crowded. The restaurant was very comfortable. Breakfast is all self serving (apart from the few usual choices from the kitchen) with plenty of choice. And the evening meals we had were nicely presented. All staff were friendly and polite and nothing seemed too much trouble for them.
Disliked: Not too keen on this idea of taking a £50 a night holding charge as well as taking our payment card on arrival. It makes checking out more confusing when trying to check everything we'd purchased. Also a disappointment was our key cards. They didn't work and 3 times we had to walk back to reception to get them set up - and we couldn't have been further from reception if they'd tried so a long walk. Even then only one card worked.

Superb staff, v good quality...
Liked: Excellent staff, nice room, good breakfast, no problem parking.
Disliked: Air conditioning would have been ideal -- there was also a lot of noise by my window around midnight, with inconsiderate guests partying -- but I didn't, as I should have, call reception who would have helped.

Lovely hotel with friendly staff.
Liked: Facilities were excellent and the rooms were very comfortable.
Disliked: The cinema room could have been more accessible.

Liked: Free parking, facilities are modern and staff friendly. Good breakfast, evening meals decent
Disliked: Lack of air conditioning in room made it uncomfortable in summer.
