Liked: Stoweflake is in a location convenient to all activities. The beds were extremely comfortable. Great towel warmer in the bathroom.
Disliked: I was charged a $67 “facilities fee”. Due to a technical problem the door keys didn’t work so all guests had leave their doors unlocked when briefly stepping out, or, be individually escorted to their rooms on return for the entire stay. The Spa was closed. The phone in my room did not work and had some gunk on it. The hotel phone did not pick up when calling from the outside. I didn’t use the pool or even have coffee in the lobby. I was automatically refunded $50 after checkout. When I called regarding the remaining $17 they immediately refunded that as well. We were there for the eclipse. This charge felt opportunistic and kind of sneaky.

Liked: Convenient and inexpensive spot for ski vacation. Spent one overnight with friends. Friendly staff.
Disliked: Facilities are a little outdated.

Pleasantly surprised that things seem...

Liked: The health club and pool are a big advantage of this property. It makes this a better value than most properties in Stowe. The squash court was in great shape and the gym, though dated, did have some new equipment. The staff seems to be improved compared to last year and the new ownership seems to have the right intentions to revive the resort.
Disliked: Basic maintenance is still needed. The hall and entry carpets are a mess, there is an odd smell in parts of the place and the lighting fixtures are often broken and crumbling. The lack of restaurant, breakfast etc is also an annoyance, but when re-opened will be another big plus for this property.

Amazing rooms, Clean, bright, comfortable....

Disliked: I respect fact that hotel accepts animals. But I do not accept that takes no responsibility for them left with no attendance, barking half of the night (I had that dog next room) No action was taken for hours, no phone call taken. Like support staff was nicely sleeping during that night. This is unacceptable. Next day, we had a long drive... we left much earlier than planned, to avoid than noise.
