Disappointing, Wish we had booked...

Disliked: Very derelict looking, the grounds have been neglected not a nice area to sit, looks nothing like the photos that they have on. Arrived and the bed hadn’t been set up or made for my son even though it was booked as a family room. Rooms small, bathroom old looking.. all needs updating. Rooms too hot, pillows were hard. You cannot get a tea/coffee or juice before 12 when the bar opens which is ridiculous. Jars of what looked like jam/coulis in the bar fridge was covered in mould. Some of the staff weren’t very friendly and quite abrupt. There were 5 rooms booked between us and our family and everyone was very disappointed with the stay. All in all wish we had booked somewhere else as the stay was not enjoyable. They are understaffed.Also think that the gym and pool should be free to use when staying at the hotel. Only thing I can give positive feedback on was the one evening we are at the hotel the food was nice.

Liked: Breakfast was as expected and usual selection of breakfast types.
Disliked: The service for evening meal was rather slow. They had a big 'do' on from outside party and seemed a little short staffed.

Appalling

Liked: absolutely nothing!
Disliked: The room had hairs in the bath, sink was dirty and the toilet had stains!very noisy at night no sound proofing and all i could hear was people running around like a heard of elephants all night!the staff on reception were rude and ignorant, the bar had absolutely ridiculous opening timings and couldn’t get any juice, water or coffee before 1200.The pricing of the hotel is abysmal considering the facilities like pool and gym weren’t included even the breakfast was £17.50 for food i wouldn’t feed to my dog! i shouldn’t have to go to gregg’s for my breakfast in the morning considering the hotel has a restaurant.

Disliked: No signs of where things were, and no times.Bar closing at 9 o clock was a shock.Just not enough information without asking

Disliked: One of the staff members was rude and unhelpful.The swimming pool changing room were dirty.One of our bedrooms had dead ants in it and the toilet overflowed. The whole place was rundown and generally not looked after.Double bedrooms and family rooms were the same size . One of our family rooms had a camp bed in it
