dissappointing

Liked: I did not have breakfast at £17.50 I was told there was no alternative
Disliked: Room incredibly hot .I was given a fan but it made no difference .They would not open the window .No biscuits in the room to go with the tea/coffee.No bitter available at the bar .Other party member had a dog.on arrival we were told the dog was not allowed to be left in the room while we supper .so had to eat in the bar area.

Could be better

Liked: Surroundings , peaceful , plenty of green space.
Disliked: No air-conditioning anywhere in the hotel . Unbearable, fans can be requested at reception for your room but else where nothing

Nice older style traditional hotel,...

Liked: Staff were friendly and helpful, bar staff in particular provided jugs of iced water as it was very hot.
Disliked: Rooms could do with a little modernisation/lock of paint in places but overall was fine, no real complaints.

Short stay

Liked: Staff were excellent nothing to much trouble.
Disliked: Nothing

Disliked: Lack of staff in breakfast area and it was not value for money

Not a great stay

Liked: Location close to my work for the night, and quiet surroundings
Disliked: The large guy on reception when we arrived to check in, was quite abrupt, not very kind which in turn made me feel awkward, and I treated him the same way. The bed was super hard, so uncomfortable that I woke up with stiff hips and back, unable to bend properly, no sockets next to the bed to charge my phone, the light switches on my side didn’t work, the fan wasn’t at all cooling in the warm room during the night. When dropping the key cards off at reception the next day, the same large guy on reception ignored me completely, not a word said to me, very rude. The price for breakfast is way too much, £17.50!!! it’s ridiculous pricing!!!
