Stourport Manor Hotel

OK for location, but won't...

Liked: Location was excellent for West Mids Safari Park, bedroom, was dated, but clean.
Disliked: Overall cleanliness of hotel, lots of cigarette ends on floor around outside areas and dust in hotel communal areas.Dinner service was appalling. Late opening of dining room, only bar menu offered, then over an hour wait for food. 'New chef having problems'. Childs' pasta was inedible and we were only offered to 'blobs' of ice cream as compensation. Coffee machine at breakfast not working and watery 'fruit juice'.Had to pay to use swimming pool, which was previously free.If we had been told about limited menu at check in we would have eaten out. By the time we found out my husband had had two pints and I don't drive his car.This was our first stay away with our granddaughter and was really disappointed. Very different experience from the one we had with her brother a few years earlier.

Liked: Good location good value, very clean,
Disliked: Staff not very welcoming, gardens untidy and dead flowers in pots and lots of rubbish n weeds, no soap in shower dispenser, dirty cup in room, people's belongings in draw, no battery in remote

Pleasant

Liked: Good location for us going to a wedding nearby
Disliked: Very quiet. Had a drink in the bar and was given a bar food menu but when we went to order was told there was no food available until 6pm

I wouldn't stay there again...

Liked: The bedrooms was a good size. The dinner food we ate was delicious despite being limited food options on the menu.
Disliked: The hotel looked like it needed modernising, the outside areas looked tired and old, needed new garden furniture, wasn't very welcoming. Reception wasn't fully informed on the spa pricing. We were told we would be charged every time we re-entered on the same day if we left but it was a daily fee. Reception staff also wasn't aware that there was a football golf pitch which was advertised on the website when i enquired about its location.We arrived early, before checkin and there was no staff to give us a drink from the bar. Took us an hour.Booked an A La Carte dinner and there was only Bar menu on offer and only half the menu was available. No bar staff later to give my husbsnd a drink.On arrival to breakfast there was no one to sit us down and there were no free tables as half were filled with dirty plates which hadn't been cleared away. Eventually a waiter cleared a table for us. The Baked beans and eggs looked like they had been sitting around far too long on the hot plate, the fruit was warm, there was no fresh fruit juices just washed down squash and the coffee machine wasn't working.We left straight after breakfast instead of using the spa. Shame as it was my birthday but was quite a dissapointing stay

Disliked: limited disabled parking it could do with refreshing paint and Clesners need to be more detailed with cleaning rooms
