The location, comfort and staff...

Liked: Location, friendly staff, excellent water pressure, number of towels and pillows, quick and easy check out.
Disliked: Selection of teas and coffee in the room, no hose in shower, fire door at top step with luggage and guide dog, an option for a simpler buffet breakfast price or option would have also been an amazing and lovely touch?

Liked: Our room was big enough for our 2 hounds, and we had a sea view, an upgrade. The bed was huge, with lovely linens. A bit hard for me, a thick mattress topper would have helped. A decent shower, lots of hot water, nice quality towels and products. The spa facilities were good, sauna, jacuzzi and indoor and outdoor swimming pools. Need to print details of how to turn on sauna, only managed because another guest knew about it. Sunbeds were provided outside so we could sunbathe when the weather was good. The bar area, tastefully updated, was in a lovely room with big windows to view the gardens and sea. The background music a preferred touch. There was a large lounge area also, but this never seemed to get used. The main restaurant was downstairs opening out onto the gardens. We preferred to eat upstairs in the bar.It is a very dog friendly hotel, dogs welcome in the bar. The food was exemplary- a small but different menu each night. I didn’t take breakfast so can’t comment.
Disliked: Nothing really. It is gradually being updated with its new owners. I’m sure its star rating will rise if any of the recent upgrades are anything to go by. But we still had a relaxing and enjoyable stay. The owners are from very impressive backgrounds in the business, and it shows.

Overall an enjoyable stay and...

Liked: Location is fantastic. 10mins from Dartmouth and 5 mins from Blackpool sands. Breakfast was great and the food was really good.All the staff were smiley and attentive.Overall an enjoyable stay. The hotel.itself is rather dated but I would say that was reflected in the pictures. Bed however was very comfortable and although basic it was very clean.

A Gem Of A Hotel.

Liked: This old hotel has plenty of charm and is a pure gem to stay at. The staff are super friendly, the rooms large and spotlessly clean. The restaurant food is Michelin Star. You won't be disappointed if you stay here.

Lovely hotel in a good...

Liked: Lovely hotel in a beautiful location. Perfect for Blackpool Sands and Dartmouth. Staff were lovely and the communal areas are very nicely decorated. The power of the shower was legendary.
