Great location, but tired and...
Liked: A great location right in the thick of the stockyards.A shower as strong as a fire hose
Disliked: It is a bit tired and I’m in need of updating. I know that they are trying to make it a traditional western hotel but times change and the amount they charged I could get a top flight hotel elsewhere. We stayed because it was close to the rodeo.

Not what I was expecting...
Liked: Friendly staff and convenient location.
Disliked: Not what I was expecting for $700 a night for a 3 star hotel. Cracked tiles in the entry. Moldy grout and shower curtain. Nasty carpet. Loose ceiling fan blades about to come out. Worn and tattered lobby furniture. No complimentary anything.

We saw the best of...
Liked: Historic hotel in a historic location. We toured the neighborhood for a part of each day we were there, enjoying all the many shops and attractions (especially the John Wayne Experience). Lots of great dining choices, too. Each day we would leave the Stockyards and go to other museums or attractions around the Fort Worth area and we enjoyed all aspects of our vacation there; it is a very clean and safe city!
Disliked: Room was a little noisy (thin walls, we were in a central location) and somewhat antiquated plumbing, but it all worked well.
