It’s fine

Liked: Great location - right next to the old jail and close to the castle. There is a long hill to get to it but a bus will take you to a stop right outside. It’s fine as a hostel. Staff are nice. Kitchen and some common spaces are good.
Disliked: The beds and flooring are loud, if you move or walk it’ll creak and wake people up. You can hear people coming up and down the stairs. The toilet, shower and sink are in the room so hopefully no one needs to poop while you’re there! It is fine but it lacks any of the things you’d hope for in a *good* hostel. No power plugs near beds, no privacy curtains.

Very good

Liked: Location and friendliness of staff. I found the onsite cooking facilities extremely useful as I don't particularly like to eat out.

Highly recommended stay in a...

Liked: The staff was so incredibly friendly and they care about you as a traveller. They are in my top 3 most friendly hostel staff I've ever encountered on all my travels. The building is also beautiful, it was even a part of my Stirling walking tour! It is part of the Stirling old town and on walking distance of everything. a very, very good price/quality ratio!
Disliked: The bathroom and shower aren't really separated from the room so it didn't give me really a feeling of privacy. Also the sockets aren't everywhere close to the beds. Though this didn't really bother me during my stay.

Delightful place and would stay...

Liked: Excellent location, near the castle and historic sites. Beautiful room, mine was the double bedded room with windows overlooking wonderful views. The flexibility to prepare your own meals - well equipped kitchen. Simple but adequate breakfast for a good price. Friendly staff
Disliked: Situated at the top of a hill which was a bit of a track, but that is part of the charm TBH. Lack of shower gel or soap in the shower. Limited eateries at night, but that has nothing to do with the hostel.

Superb

Liked: A very nice hostel right in the centre, great staff + vibe. I had a double room with ensuite bathroom - large, basic but perfect + clean. Parked in the hostel car park or can also do on the street with some daytime restrictions (except Sundays).
Disliked: Nothing

Warm and welcoming.

Liked: Amazing welcome from the lovely person on reception. They made us feel very welcome. Our room, however basic, was very clean and warm. Just what we needed. We may have found a new hobby and will be looking to book a hostel for our next trip.
Disliked: Nothing really. Breakfast was slightly overpriced but not overtly so.
