Superb

Liked: Very clean. Staff are friendly and efficient. I think one of the staff members was Micheala. She was very good.
Disliked: The tv in the lounge area wasn't set up correctly, so we were unable to use it. It took 2 days to get it sorted. I felt like the staff thought that as we are in our 60s, we obviously weren't able to use it properly. It turned out to be an aerial problem. It's quite noisy in the mornings with staff banging around outside. One morning, it was about 6.45am!!The light above the mirror, next to the wardrobe, was very dim and ineffective. The bathroom is very small. There is plenty of space to make it larger.

Restful in Idealic surroundings, comfortable...

Liked: We had dinner in The Seasons which was freshly cooked and served in a lovely setting staff sooo Friendly and helpful. Breakfast was a buffet but everything hot and cooked well and cold buffet as well. The staff are absolutely so friendly and nothing is too much trouble for them. Of course the grounds are superb and set in the most most beautiful countryside. It was lovely as the preparations were going on for an on site wedding, so it was buzzing .
Disliked: There was nothing that we didn't like and will go back again.

An excellent place to stay

Liked: The bedroom was very clean and comfortable, the staff were all very helpful and friendly. There was an excellent choice for breakfast and we enjoyed the dinners we had. The hotel was beautifully furnished, with a nice range of lounge areas to sit in. Plenty of parking too.
Disliked: We didn't explore the grounds as the weather wasn't brilliant, but that was our choice rather than a complaint as they looked lovely.

Amazing historic house with amazing...

Liked: Everything from start to finish was made exceptional by Lou and her team. The room was luxurious and spacious with amazing views from every window. The service was top notch, we even had a free glass of bubbly for our anniversary. The food was excellent and very tasty. It was not only amazing inside, the grounds outside the hotel are free to explore. We went for a wander and we had seen a stag and a group of about 10 deers. We would definitely stay again and would highly recommend.
Disliked: There was nothing to complain about.

Would recommend comfy beds and...

Liked: The grounds were beautiful and I can see why it's a wedding venue. The hotel itself was very cosy, a lovely lounge area with high-backed chairs and comfy sofas to enjoy a drink before bed. My room was nicely decorated and the bed and pillow were exceptionally comfortable (better than mine at home!) Michaela was on duty and was very helpful providing me with a charger when I realised I'd forgotten mine. She was on duty for breakfast, which was also great. Full English and continental choices. I paid around £80 and consider this money well spent. Definitely recommend.
Disliked: Everything was great.

Exceptional

Liked: We made a last minute reservation and weren't disappointed. In fact, we wished we could have stayed longer. The owner went well out of his way to make us feel welcome. The gardens are beautiful as are the views. Our room was large and very clean. The food including breakfast was excellent. We felt the prices were very reasonable. There is plenty of secure parking. If we are in the area again we will be happy to stay.
